Guarin
The Guide

Guarin is quiet, patient and kind. He's used to living alone, as he did for many years in his own little carved out cave in the Shattered Plane, hidden in its depths from the heat of the desert outside. That was of course, until one night when out scavenging and gathering he stumbled across Matija. Amused by his new charge and her endless curiosity for the world around her he dd his best to raise the hatchling. He was no experienced caretaker, and by his own admission not exactly the brightest star in the sky, but he kept her healthy at least. Years later a full grown guardian entered his cave, and offered him a place in her new clan, he didn't recognize the face, but he did recognize that scent! He more than happily joined his charge in her new mission; she is quite constantly reminding him she is not his 'charge.' He good naturedly brushes her off every time. Not used to living with so many other dragons, though the clan is admittedly quite small, he spends most of his time deeper into the Archives exploring the catacombs beneath some parts of which even Matija doesn't know about. He's not a big reader of books, in fact he can barely write his own name, but he enjoys roaming the forgotten halls beneath. He scavenges and gathers food for the clans plant and meat eaters, and occasionally helps Tamika with hatchling duty. He is followed about by a megashrimp that surfaced from an underground pool in the catacombs, it spends most of it's time clumsily following him about and nearly knocking over every stack of books in it's path. More than anything, Guarin tries his best to make and pilgrims and vagabonds that pass through their lair are happy and comfortable. This habit of 'comforting' has contributed to a good majority of the hatchlings born to the clan. |
