Guardian of the Archives

When she was hatched Matija was alone, an abandoned egg on the Shattered Plain. On the rocky, barren expanse the hatchling stood very little chance, if it hadn’t been for Guarin. He happened upon the remnants of a hatched earth egg and searched the area until he discovered the young guardian girl digging out a hollow in the cracked earth to hide herself in. Guarin took in the lost little hatchling; as the guardian grew older, becoming much larger than her host, she quickly out grew the cave she had called home. Though she was reluctant to leave Matija departed to begin her search. She traveled the expanse of Dragonhome and beyond, her greatest influence being her stay in the Starfall Isles. There she studied under a few teachers the mysteries of the world, and felt a stirring in her soul. So many histories of the world were lost or scattered, or just not accessible enough to become common knowledge! It was a crime against nature that so many of dragon kind were ill informed on their own histories. With a newfound fervor, Matija returned home to start a clan of like minded individuals, she would be the Guardian of the Archives, a collection of books, scrolls, tomes, and charts detailing histories, mysteries, and general oddities of Sornieth. She collected a group of like-minded dragons to assist her in this endeavor, as well as going back to invite her sort-of-dad Guarin to join the clan. Their clan is small, but close-knit. All inside are happy to invite in strangers to peruse the Archives which Matija has pledged to collect and protect. In the clan itself she oversees all clan activities and acts as a guard. She does not particularly favor any area of the archives. On one of her occasional ventures into the outside world beyond the Archives halls she encountered and was followed home by a Grassland Trunker. The creature seems content to just sleep and eat in her nest as long as she comes in to lie with it at night, good enough compromise she supposed. |
