CIRCE
The Diviner's Daughter

__________________________________

A true-blooded circus child, Circe grew up amidst the rambling, joyful chaos of acrobats and magic shows. However, anyone raised in the shadow of Starshace is bound to have some common sense tucked into them. Circe is quite the responsible, thoughtful young woman, tempered perhaps by worry for her mother’s ailing health and by her own burgeoning future visions. She has assumed most of the responsibility of caravan divination at a young age, a role that even the Ringmaster worried would be too burdensome for her. Dreamwalking is taken seriously in the Red Lands, and the duty of a diviner in any trickster’s caravan is one of the most important and necessary jobs to manage correctly. Circe has proven to be a natural at walking dreams, however – which makes some in the caravan wonder precisely who her father was.

Perhaps it’s the toil of sifting through personal tragedy as a daily profession, but Circe prefers to curl up and read a book on a hill with her ever-accompanying flock of patient pet birds than deal with the caravan chaos. The pandemonium is always a bit easier to swallow from a slight distance; and Circe generally has company in the form of Thresh, who also prefers the company of trees and grass to the wild cacophony of the circus. Besides, Circe has been getting worrisome visions lately – of strange creeping dreams and auras of madness. It’s becoming harder and harder to stay within the circus walls without being driven to distraction by these strange stray ghosts; and despite her attempts to ignore them, Circe is beginning to suspect their source. It’s only a matter of time before the Jongleur’s little secret comes out.
