- The Matriarch -

Biromantic | Heterosexual | She/Her

. her familiar is Riveta the Sunspot Clouddancer .

VPA587E.gif Born alone into a world full of powerful colours and light, Arivia spent most of her childhood years roaming around the Arcanist's lands. Her path came across Ramratan, a plague dragon without his own place in the world. The two of them found each other to be just what they had been missing in their lives, and set to build a life together. It wasn't until the cold realization entered their minds that their balanced life would be broken; both Arivia and Ramratan had thought that they were each others' Charge, but this turned out to be their wishful thinking. One night, it was Arivia who woke up from what she had thought to be a dream - there was a place somewhere in Sornieth that grew large crystals, pulsing with power of the unknown, and a lair that had been marked with the symbols of the Arcanist himself. It took Arivia a long time to realise that what she had witnessed, and what she continued to witness each night after the first, was a vision. The first of its kind, Arivia knew that the vision was of her Charge. Arivia had to leave Ramratan with a heavy heart, knowing the plague dragon couldn't follow her on her journey, and set to find what more lie in these visions for her.
- Arivia continued to see things of the future, of the Arcane flight's dominance of all of Sornieth, and these visions gave her strength and conviction. It was when she arrived at the Crystalspine Reaches when she found what she had been looking for - a foundation for her vision to grow. This is where she begun her Clan, a home for dragons of all kinds, serving the appointed matriarch to bring unseen glory to the Arcane flight. All in the name of the glorious things she could see in their future.
2mfkfhe.png . As the first ones to join Arivia in her journey to found the Clan, a fae by the name of Kashee became Arivia's first consort. The fae was strangely compelled and charmed by Arivia's vision, and he saw it as his duty to give the matriarch a new generation to continue on her footsteps. Behind his back, Arivia was secretly looking for a new consort who could replace Kashee, as she believed the fae dragon to be far too weak to carry the mantle of the matriarch's main consort. She only shared her thoughts with Gwenwyn and Raighyuu, who in the end were her main advisors and supporters in her quest to get rid of Kashee.
8262111p.png . For Arivia, no one has earned her trust and love like Gwenwyn has. The skydancer is her second-in-command and as thus the one who speaks with her voice when Arivia is not in place to serve her own judgement. Arivia shares every little detail of her thoughts and ideas to Gwenwyn, and leans on her support when her own faith wavers. The two of them regard each other as sisters, though there is no question to whom the authority still belongs to. Arivia has always admired Gwenwyn's skills as a diplomat, and gives her free reign over her own duties. No one else in the Clan is as free to do as they wish than Gwenwyn, but only because Arivia knows her to do all in her power for her - and for her Clan.
10834765p.png . Arivia is very fond of Raighyuu, whom she sees as a very formidable candidate to become her prime consort. The skydancer male posesses all the qualities that Arivia is searching for in a consort, and the two share many intimate moments. Yet as the matriarch she must think what is best for the Clan as a whole, and has thus made the decision to pair him with the fair Althea, much to his disapproval. Arivia's next choice for his mating partner, Shereeva, was met with more enthusiasm.

Matriarch of her Clan, Arivia is wise, calm to the point of being seen as cold, and very powerful. She is headstrong in her beliefs and leads with sterness. Her authority is unquestionable, and she is not afraid to remind others of this. Arivia protects the young in her Clan with great ferocity, and has very strict beliefs on how they should be treated. She welcomes the insight of all her adult clanmates, but is always in posession of the last word in any given situation.
. As soon as Arivia's first dragonlings had hatched, she took immediate action to throw Kashee out of power. She knew that his position as her prime consort would only strengthen with the presence of their children, and thus planned, with the help of Gwenwyn and Raighyuu, how Kashee could leave. She created a plan where she would give her greatest affections publicly, and demand that they'd go to the deity if their heart lied with the her. Kashee had no other option than to accept his fate, lest his name would be tarnished. As a final farewell, Arivia promised that their fae daughter, Kashra, would soon follow his father's footsteps.
. Arivia's first dragonlings are called Niria, Raveen and Kashra. She sees some potential in Niria to perhaps follow in her footsteps as the clan matriarch, but feels that Raveen is best suited for the service of their deity. In the end only her firstborn daughter is still with the clan.

Through the years, Arivia has grown increasingly cold and she holds the power in the Clan with a tighter grip than she's ever done. It's as if there is a nagging fear at the back of the matriarch's skull that there is a storm brewing. How the situation came to be like this and where did it start, she does not know. All she is aware of is the fact that there is powerful magic everywhere like air itself, pulsing intensely, as if it would have been awoken for a single reason - to witness the end of an era. Arivia is slowly realising that her visions are indeed of the Arcane flight's future, and only now do they seem to imply that she herself, having put the wheels into motion, will not be there to witness it.
