Biography

Cook
Ship's Cook

Now, who sent you down here? Are you a new hand shoved off on me to put you in your place? Or maybe the captain doesn't know you're down here? Does anyone know where you are?
Oh, forgive me, sometimes my mouth has a mind of its own. Come here, come here, see what Cook has ready for the first part of the next voyage. These are dried bits of jerky seasoned, of course, with sea salt. And hanging here is drying plants that I might use later. They were found and stolen. I don't know if all of them are edible but if they enhance the flavor then that's what counts! Oh, and in this pot over here--come, come--is the left overs of a thresher that two of the crew caught. See, it boiling in the pot?
You see, I had Tendon sharpen all of my blades recently so they make nice clean cuts. Here, would you like to see? Just put your foreclaw on my board over here and I'll demonstrate. Spread your digits like so, yes, and we'll have pickled fingers to serve the crew later!
...Now what are you doing there? Don't look frightened, it's just thresher. They care less where they end up as long as there's food to be eaten, those threshers. Apologies for the smell, I have the captain's next meal rotting in a barrel in the corner. I often wonder if Plague dragons can taste or if they just fancy chewing on something to yellow their teeth. Oh, no, not that barrel the next one!
Now, why did you have to go and open that? Go ahead, continue to stare into the contents. A clawful of the crew know and some happily eat, others only eat what they're served. Oh! You see that, I forgot to pluck the the eyes out.
Well, now, where are you going? I can't have you sharing my secrets with the world...hmm, not a secret I suppose. Nonethless, you won't be going anywhere. I'll be sure to inform the crew that they'll have a hearty feast of dragon tonight...or, maybe I'll serve it in secret, hah!

yPL7vcO.gif Cook started out as Cascade and lived shortly in a well off clan before he was sold to a dragon named Lazalor. Initially Cascade worked for the dragon but they soon became partners because of the dragon's exceptional cooking skills. When Lazalor began to think the food was losing its taste he partnered them with a Plague clan.

The food that the Plague clan desired was dragon but Cascade had refused. In response, they removed his left foreleg and the next dragon they asked him to flavor he was forced to taste test as well. For some time Cascade lived for this clan and was paid well for it but when Lazalor became greed yby asking for payment from Cascade, the dragon refused.

Lazalor responded by breaking the alliance between them and the clan and they were punished severely for it. Lazalor was slain and Cascade was imprisoned and forced to continue cooking for the clan. After a failed escape attempt he lost his right hind foot. Afterwards the coatl started to lose his mind. He went so far as to start consuming himself when they withheld his food.

When the clan was attacked he managed to escape into a different Plague clan, and when they inquired his name Cascade changed it to Cook fearing his identity would be discovered. After a free meal the coatl escaped into the night. When he had gone some time without consuming dragon meat the dragon's insanity nearly reached its peak as he resorted to killing. When one of his victims escaped and alerted nearby clans Cook had a backup plan. He hired himself on to the
Black Firebird where the pirates asked very little as long as they had something to eat.
