Pansidus
Scholar, powerful magician, unofficial lair idol


This is one of the prime examples of how someone's resolve to do well can be stronger than ambition and thirst of power. Pansidus is a powerful magician and an excellent scholar: his main interests are stars and constellations and he dedicates most of his time to his studies. Although magic is definitely among his interests, his approach is more practical and scientific: he rarely, if ever, uses his magic to enhance his research.
When he's particularly stressed out and isn't in the mental space for working, he likes to sing. It's not uncommon for other dragons to want to listen to his voice, but Pansidus gets awfully shy when he's aware that someone can hear him, so he usually makes sure that nobody is around beforehand. (This doesn't always work.)
Pansidus is also one of the sweetest souls in the lair. He rarely gets mad, if ever, and he's always ready to give advice to other dragons. He's also very empathetic: this might sound surprising, but Pansidus is more likely to make decisions and offer suggestions based on his gut feeling and his emotions, rather than logic and common sense. Most of the other dragons feel the most at ease with him because they can feel how much he cares and feels for everyone around him. For the same reason, he's also subject to making mistakes and being hurt, but that never led him to close his heart.
As an ambassador he is reliable and diligent with his duties, but this is also because of Entarge not being a very good teammate: while the Fae is busy being tingled by elemental magic and wanting to work on his experiments, the Pearlcatcher is the one who actually does the talking and takes care of most of their official tasks.
Pansidus met Entarge and Tafeirinmen when he was still a hatchling, and the Clan still hadn't been founded yet. Feeling a little lost and without anyone he could confidently rely on, he saw in Tafeirinmen the motherly figure he needed. He grew up with Eaqui and Duariah.
Pansidus grew up with the strong desire of wanting to form a family of his own, but he only ever felt attraction to males, so he struggled a lot with his identity and his dreams. When he had a nest with a Pearlcatcher he was particularly fond of, he realized that he couldn't feel the strong connection with his mate and his son that he had expected. On the other hand, when his story with Duariah began, he ended up being part of the collateral damage of his mate's personal goals and ambitions. His tormented history of romantic relationships led him to some time spent in self-reflection as he decided to focus on his studies.
With the election of Fereneel as new Clan Leader, Pansidus felt the distinct change in the atmosphere of the clan. It felt tidier, definitely more organized than before: the other members didn't try to step on each other anymore, there was no confusion and fear like in the past. The elements who had tried to seize the power and control things were stripped of their positions, and some of them even left the lair altogether.
It was a new beginning, at long last, and Pansidus was eager to be an active part of that change, so he immediately volunteered as a new Arcane representative, at the side of Entarge.
Janus Ashes was his new chance to find happiness.
