Born into a particularly curious clan of the Arcane Flight, Caron was soon educated with the ideas that an explosion meant success, a good book was all you needed in life, and exploring the world to know new dragons, new cultures, and find a new home was the best choice one could make. Thus, as soon as he was old enough to fly without help or supervision, he set out to find a new clan.

It wasn't as easy as he expected, but it certainly was all the fun he expected it to be. The knowledge he gained in those few weeks of travelling and meeting others was far more than what he had gained in years of studying. It was all probably worth the tiredness and constant wing ache. And the six times he was almost eaten alive while hunting. Definitely worth it.

However, he only made it as far as the Scarred Wasteland. He should've known better, really, after all those books and all those people warning him to be careful, but he still insisted on visiting Plague territory first thing, since it was the one nearer to the Starfall Isles. And he fell ill, with a strand of a virus he had never even heard of before, much less studied a cure for. And it was then, when he was lying on the barren land, already surrounded by vermin ready to feast upon his rotting body, that the Fae made her appearance and saved his life.

He had found his new home in a way he'd never expected to, but he was happy. The clan was small, still building, the very first members joining, and he liked it that way. He couldn't have asked for more than playing with the hatchlings, or hunting with his new mates. But then the plague hit, and Caron's new family, bit by bit, dragon by dragon, was destroyed.
