Backstory
As a hatchling, Hyra was quiet and shy. Unlike her active, troublemaker sister, Kestrel, Hyra preferred calm activities such as reading or watching her father in the lab. She had Fin's easygoing nature, unlike her spunky, sassy sibling. Despite these differences, the sisters got along well. Kestrel stood up for Hyra, and Hyra calmed Kestrel whenever she was on a hyperactive rampage. Now grown, she possesses the beauty of her mother and is levelheaded in any situation. Her quiet beauty has attracted the attention of several males, most of whom were scared off by Kestrel. It was on a solitary fishing trip that she met Kaz, a handsome ridgeback. Through many fishing-trip-related excuses she was able to talk with him often, and she kept these visits a secret in order to prevent Kestrel from scaring him off. Eventually, though, she took him to meet the rest off her clan, and he proved to be impervious to Kestrel's scare tactics. The two are now bondmates, and have two children, Toxica and Sventlin. Hyra and Kaz also serve as adoptive parents to a host of orphans, including Shrike, Cassin, Aspen, Kanji, Xiiva, Peron, Neith, Taver, Hecate, and Tiandi.
Personality
Hyra is easygoing, calm, and levelheaded, with a patience beyond that of any other dragon in the clan. She is also very caring towards new hatchlings in the clan, and will often watch them while their parents are hunting or fighting in the coliseum. She is always happy to help orphan hatchlings feel at home in Phantomclan, and acts as a sort of mother/aunt figure for nearly all of them. Hyra and her sister continue to get along great despite the differences in their personalities and Kestrel's attempts to scare off Kaz.
Hyra's Search
Hyra's charge is to watch over all the young dragons in the clan, to make sure they are raised right to become strong, honorable, brave dragons. She loves all hatchlings, no matter their breed, colors, or element, and teaches them to do the same.
