When Winter was just a hatchling, he lost everything. A plague swept through his lightning clan, and everyone sickened and died. His parents, his precious little sister, and his best friend. He felt all of it with his incredibly acute empathy, and, eventually, he was left alone. It was a blessed, agonizing relief. He was in no more pain, but he had no one. When he found a new clan, he kept to himself, determined not to feel the pain that had hurt him so when he was a child. No one could reach him. Love came from such an unexpected source. A plague dragon. Crescendo, his loving mate. He fell head over heels for her and her loving ways. Slowly, he opened his heart again, and is so content with this dragon who he should have held a grudge against. Being a father is the light of his life, and he will never be alone again. |
