Quote:
"If I told you that I wasn't sure of what to do, even when faced with directions, would you take me at face value and validate my feelings while risking rejection or obey the higher power and dispose of me as a living soul?
... No need to answer, I guess. Jus' thinkin' out loud."

"What are you going to do, then?"
Deneb's question finally gets Seyfert to move. Seyfert pulls his legs in closer to his body and weakly pulls his head up from the floor he's lying down on.
"Nothing. I can't do anything." He doesn't make eye contact, instead opting to stare at the wall blankly, just as he was doing before he looked up.
"Of course you can," Deneb reassures his friend, reaching out to pat Seyfert on the shoulder, but he quiets as those lies leave his lips. He knows he wouldn't do anything, either. He retracts his hand and looks away in contemplation of what he's just done.
"I think there's just... no point, any more?" Seyfert rests his head on the floor again.
"... I'd say the same if I were in your situation, I'm sure. But, ah, what about your plants? Your corn and stuff?"
Seyfert hesitates: he doesn't want to respond. "... Maybe I should just wither like they did."
Deneb lies down on the ground next to his friend. "... I know it's bad, but, I ... I kind of want to, too."

Highly attuned to all things planetary, Seyfert is an unfocused individual otherwise. An introspected fellow, he spends quite a bit of time lying down belly-up and staring at the sky. (It's important meteorological research, dammit!) His talents include field and animal tending as well as crop sewing. Physics, gravity, botany, and geology interest him. Seyfert is quite burly and heavily feathered for a Wildclaw dragon. He certainly isn't the biggest or the heaviest, but what he can do with his size and stature is quite impressive -- the real challenge is convincing him that doing things is worth it. Attention is one thing he severely can't deal with. He is always multitasking, always moving, always doing something. He always takes the longest to finish writing something, and he's always tapping his feet on the floor, looking around, and snacking while attempting to write. As a result, he's quite impulsive about doing things, pouring his soul into his work for fifteen minutes before becoming burnt out and moving on to some other passive activity. When he was young, he spent most of his time on a farm with his mother, and most of his personality has been affected by that. His blunt, crude mannerisms and speech patterns are reminiscent of a typical farmer's. He's certainly not the sharpest tool in the shed, but that's not to say that he's the least sharp tool, either. He just so happens to have read quite a bit on physics and its recent accompanying technobabble. Is he a little socially awkward? Yeah, he is, due to his reclusive nature, but don't make the mistake of passing it off as naivete and ignorance. Social cues can pass over his head easily, but that doesn't make him dim at all. |

Seyfert resents almost everything his uncle does, since their goals oppose one another.

For years, Deneb was a regular to Seyfert's family's stall at a farmer's market. Seeing as the two were peers, they were able to make friends with each other fairly easily. The two would talk about and trade books with each other when they could get together. Seyfert always admired Deneb's studiousness and strived to be like him.

Seyfert is mildly overwhelmed at Mizar's willingness to talk even in the face of how poorly Mizar was treated by his family. He doesn't really understand Mizar but is completely willing to stay friends with him.

Should you fight Seyfert?

Seyfert is an incredibly dapper fellow, and he looks to me perfectly suited for a good bout of fisticuffs. Put up your dukes, tally ho and whatnot.

The old fashioned look is just fine, if you're living a hundred years ago at the time when it was actually in vogue. Still, I suppose I ought to understand an earth dragon clinging to old relics of the past. Perhaps you simply haven't changed your outfit since the style was new.
