LITTLEWING
Soldier of Fortune/Mercenary
FAMILIAR:
Centaur Archer
EZER
Littlewing had been born to a family who had left before she could hardly fly, abandoning her in the murky haze of the Wandering Contagion with a centaur as her sole companion. Ezer, an archer whose family had been raised there for generations, couldn't bear to leave the hatchling to fend for herself, and so the centaur raised the hatchling in lieu of her absent parents.

Instinct was her teacher, first and foremost, whispering to Littlewing to eat, urging her to fight, instilling within her a will to survive. Ezer refined those skills, teaching her to navigate the harsh terrain, how to tell from the faintest of breezes when danger was near, how to stalk game for miles on end. Though his knowledge of battling dragons was limited, Ezer tried his best to teach her what little strategy he knew, mimicking the movements he had seen in seasoned warriors and splicing beastclan tactics where there were gaps in his curriculum. As she grew stronger, word of her extraordinary story and curious fighting style spread, and the wildclaw took on the title Soldier of Fortune.

Littlewing left the lair she was born in to find a new home, wanting no reminder of the family that abandoned her. Yet as she roamed the outskirts of the Scarred Wasteland, no clan, nor place called to her as a home; It seemed that the Plaguebringer herself had cursed her to be alone. Still Ezer followed her, now acting as the only family she had left.

As the wildclaw fought and battled throughout her journey, tales of her prowess grew exponentially, warping into mythos and legends that spoke of her precision, speed, and honesty. Littlewing became one of the first mercenaries to call when Sornieth's Elitist society or a royal family wanted something done, and was paid handsomely for her efforts as a hired assasin. Yet she never grew friendly with any of the royalty that surrounded her, instead silently watching from the back of the palace rooms she frequented. This was hardly a place she could call home; to her, a home was a loving mate and a family.

Misfortune struck, and Ezer grew deathly ill. Littlewing searched high and low for a healer that could save him, eventually making her way to the Windswept Plateau after hearing of a talented imperial by the name of Dusk. As she explored the plateau, a strange feeling washed over her. It was a sense of belonging, a sense of peace; something she had not felt in a long, long time. Stopping to rest, she sat at the edge of the bay, pouring cool water on Ezer in hopes of calming his fever, and gazing at the rippling waters in deep thought. The wildclaw barely noticed the soft thuds of Dusk's footsteps as he approached her, sharply turning towards him when he began to speak. Littlewing followed him as he gently scooped up the centaur and started towards his lair, a great hull that held many familiars that the imperial was in the process of healing. Ezer miraculously recovered in record time, and both dragon and familiar thanked Dusk profusely for his efforts.

Littlewing and Ezer found his clan to be a special place, one that they thought was peaceful enough for her to find a mate. They built a small lair down on the Zephyr Steppes, close to where she had found the savior of her best friend. She shed the title of mercenary; the plateau saw no need for violence, with many clans here settling conflicts with diplomacy instead. Truly, the Windsinger had created quite the idyllic place for his children to grow.

One afternoon, Littlewing was down at the bay, enjoying the warm sunshine and cool breezes with some of the many friends she had made since joining Daidra's clan. She turned, and suddenly found herself tripping over a young Wildclaw male. As she apologized for her mistake and checked to see if he was unhurt, Daidra laughed, and introduced him to her as Blacksmith, a new member of the clan.

Many months and repeated apologies later, they became mates, expanding her simple lair into one large enough to house their many children and his visiting brothers and sisters. Their life was one of serenity and happiness; gone were the days of fighting to survive, gone were the days of hardship and struggle. Through everything, Ezer - family, friend, confidant - had stood by her side, helping to raise her children as he had raised her all those years ago. The calm of the plateau seemed to be reflected in his very soul in later years, seeming to undo the generations of survival in plague's wastelands. For once, Littlewing was finally at peace.

Then, one day, everything changed.

Once again, she found herself alone. Yet she is a warrior at heart, one that stands up for her clan and the lost, fighting for them and giving them shelter. Blacksmith may serve the Windsinger now, flying far above Sorineth in the wake of the deity, but their bond remains. Their story is far from over.
