Biography
Galadriel was adopted by Myria and Ed as a hatchling from a clan in the Shadow Flight. Her mother is a guardian and her father, a tundra. She was named by her parents and has chosen to keep her birth name. Although she left her birth clan as a hatchling, Galadriel views her early journey to the Southern Icefield as a head start on her Search. Though her flight was nearly to the opposite side of the world, Galadriel has always been somewhat fascinated by the iciness of the Ice Flight. Too young to be thoroughly indoctrinated in the ways of her natural elemental deity, Galadriel finds the Icewarden to be a worthy god. Galadriel is only slightly mischievous, instead focused on her Search. Although she is still young, her greatest fear is failure as a guardian to find and protect her charge. While she is content to stay in Myria's clan, Galadriel often flies away daily to explore and search for a worthy charge, returning in time for a meal and rest.
Galadriel was the fourth of seven children of her clan's leaders, both shadow dragons. However, both her parents were born in the Month of the Germination and are the Hunter & Gatherer zodiac sign. While supportive and hardworking parents and clan leaders, they could often be controlling and were zealously dedicated to the Shadowbinder and strongly disapproved of all other elements. Thus, they only allowed shadow dragons or dragons with no known parents who could be raised as shadow into their clan (they did make one exception for a wind dragon since wind dragons are known for being travelers). Their first child was exalted to the Shadowbinder. As a guardian, Galadriel's mother's charge was her children. This caused difficulties for her guardian children because she did not want them to leave her to go on their own Searches. Ironically, it was because of her desire to keep them with her that all her guardian children elected to move to another clan as soon as they were able or be exalted to a deity. In fact, only one child still remains in their shadow clan. Galadriel lives in the Ice Flight and her older guardian sister lives in a fire clan. Galadriel's younger guardian sister, who wasn't born until after Galadriel left, went to a nature clan and was exalted to the Gladekeeper.
Galadriel's two sisters from her clutch were both exalted to the Icewarden, which is why Galadriel was initially interested in the Ice flight. She considered following them into exaltation herself, thus she left for the Southern Icefield, but she did not feel that her charge would involve directly serving the Icewarden, which is how she ended up in Myria's clan. Coming from this background, Myria's fervent dedication to the Icewarden feels familiar to Galadriel, although it is much less suffocating than being her shadow mother's charge was. Despite the not so amicable departure from her birth clan, Galadriel tries not to let her upbringing give her a distaste for the entire Shadow flight.
