Biography

Dispenser of Justice; Cursebreaker; Trainer

The Tundra was never significant before. No one paid attention to her, and she was not brave enough to say much. But she saw things. She saw the Arcane-focused enthrallment spreading through dragons, under cover of widespread distraction. With both seers tainted, though, who would believe her?

Some of that changed when she began to bond with the Serthis. He had been with Firecoat before, and was respected by important people. He could see it too. And Undara had sent him a message from wherever she had gone, describing visions that seemed about this. He knew who to talk to, and he confirmed her suspicions of who was behind this--which were confirmed again when they caught the Spiral's golem trying to spy on them.

They recruited Strychnos, though he proved already injured, and Iznioch, and went to challenge Topaz. As they went out, Strychnos moved aside to restrain Gentian, who tried to attack them on the way.

The fight with her was shockingly short; she came out fighting, no trace left of the former pretense of Lightning affiliation. The Spiral was a mass of limbs and teeth, flailing in all directions. Somehow in the chaos, the Tundra got hold of Topaz' head, and brought it smashing down to the stone floor, where it split open like it were made of rotten wood.

The Tundra stood dazed for several seconds. Iznioch was saying the words, invoking Icewarden over the dead. She could tell it worked, as the smell of blood and brains shifted to frozen meat. This one would not be a ghost.

They regrouped slightly, before a high, shrill buzz heralded the arrival of the remaining enemies--Impatiens, whom they had identified as enthralled, and the Opheodrys Serthis who accompanied her, who was not. Combat became chaos again, with spells and paws flying, and the Fae scratching and biting everything she could reach. It was Iznioch who managed to trap her, quickly summoning vines to bind the smaller dragon and keep her out of combat.

The Tundra and her companion were having troubles, now that Iznioch was largely distracted--the Opheodrys fought with bite and knife as well as spells, and had managed to leave both fighters bleeding from an assortment of wounds. The Carmine Serthis called to Strychnos, seeking additional backing. The Nature Sprite arrived near immediately, followed by Strychnos himself, and this turned the tide of the fight. This time it was the Carmine Serthis who landed the deathblow on his conspecific. His companion did not see how it happened, only that the fight was suddenly over.

The Tundra felt her head was whirling as they tried to regroup once again. They had two bodies, two prisoners, everyone wounded and a list of the compromised to catch. And, it turned out, some sort of mutated sprout, beyond recognizing what it may once have been, growing in some of their wounds. The Tundra picked out those in the Serthis' cuts, but Strychnos opted to show his to Arquen.

The Tundra and Serthis followed, seeking wound treatment, and another to whom they could explain. The Tundra expected that her main part in this would now be over, and the leaders would see it though.

*

During her recovery, the Tundra has taken on a new name--Ehre, a good name given everything.

Ehre has recently recovered enough that she can shed her bandages and begin her training. She fights alongside Firecoat, watching and imitating what the older Tundra does, though she has not begun to learn to channel elemental power through her blows. Her teacher has forbidden it until the end of the Starfall Celebration, citing too great a danger of the magic going haywire. She has complied--she does not want anything to go wrong either, and she is still somewhat overwhelmed to have clan-leaders paying attention to her.

Her bond with the Serthis has deepened, though not to its fullest extent. Both are attempting to hold this off as well until their shared element is no longer at its peak.

Ehre is focusing primarily on her training, but both she and the Serthis are keeping an eye out for any resurgence of curses that might indicate that Topaz had either a hidden ally or a hidden reserve. Neither has yet to see anything, but it is better to be prepared.
