A highly acclaimed scholar hailing from the Tourmaline University. Rosette has retired from her post as a teacher, and is spending her retirement in Traveler's Rest pursuing personal research. Whenever she is asked about said research, the answer is so long and convoluted it leaves the asker with more questions, which Rosette will not deign to answer. They should have retained everything the first time. Hatched to an accomplished mage and a university professor, the path Rosette took in life was never in question. She passed her primary schooling with flying colors and was accepted into the prestigious Tourmaline University, with intent to study in portal magic. Her youth was taken up completely by study and practice, which left little room for her social skills to develop, making her difficult to get along with for many. Rosette likes things this way, however, as she prefers to study alone. After graduating at the top of her class, Rosette was immediately accepted as a teaching assistant at her alma mater, and later as a professor of portal magic. It was during this time she taught Starstorm, her favorite student. She kept in touch with Star after they graduated and moved to Traveler's Rest, and they were the one to convince her to retire and move out to the Shifting Expanse. Now that Rosette is no longer teaching or tangled in university politics, she is free to study whatever she likes. Currently, that is the fusion of magic and technology that Lightning is famous for. She has enlisted the young Gaoler Meiri in this endeavor, alongside Star. This path of research has put her on the bad side of Supervisor Keiro, who considers it to be espionage. Nobody is really sure Keiro even has a good side, and he's the only one willing to get into arguments with Rosette on a regular basis. |
