Frog Pronouns Plaguebaned |
Given the same dose of DNA as the clutch previous, the eggs underwent the same process from before. The molten lava turned solid, creating a tougher shell, before cracking and revealing the putrid smelling, pulsing, pus covered and frail shells inside. Their hatching was mostly uneventful as well, three seemingly healthy, red-eyed fathoms emerged from their first homes.

I immediately noticed there was something a bit strange about this one, which we decided to call Frog due to the oddity. She appears coated in a slime and her skin is frail, like that of a frog! After some further investigation we did indeed find that she breathes through her skin. What an interesting mutation to occur! I’ll be sure to wear my gloves when checking up on her, I wouldn’t want to bring her sensitive skin any harm. I’ll also be working on a lotion of sorts that she can apply to ensure she is able to properly breath.

I was getting worried about Frog after she stayed under the water for longer than the other hatchlings, but it seems another benefit to her skin is that she’s able to breathe underwater. This wasn’t something I had expected to come from the mutations, but it appears that they can affect any of the hatchlings' DNA in odd and incredible ways! So far they’ve been mostly beneficial to my pleasant surprise.

Frog's skin is incredibly frail and thin, but its coated in a thick slime that allows her to breath through her skin both on land and underwater. She needs to keep herself clean to prevent a risk of suffocation and other problems. It also leaves her vulnerable to outside disease which can make fighting off the plague of her bloodline harder and harder each day.
