Welcome to the Autumn Winds Hatchery


You finish dragging you're exhausted body up onto one of the last of the reed-covered cliffs. You have been climbing for days among the bamboo, and jumping across the small crevasses that split the small floating steppes, the sound of small pebbles rolling over the edge in your wake. Now you find yourself exhausted, but alive, at the top of the Reedcliff Ascent, right next to the Twisting Crescendo where the Autumn Winds tribe makes their home.

Long ago the winds of time had blown across these rugged slopes, bringing with it the season of change. On these rugged slopes the wind dropped it's parcel. A small egg from the light realm rapped in autumn leaves. With a shudder the egg-shell split, and the small hatchling looked across it's new world. This dragon was named Okam. No one knew how her egg had wound up on those desolate cliffs, never before had an egg been carried by the wind. On these cliffs where Okam hatched was where the Autumn Winds tribe was formed.

Over the seasons, many dragons joined the tribe. Each dragon had their ear to the wind, and the deep look of concentration on their face as they tried to make sense of the winds whispers. Gradually the tribe formed into a vast community consisting of many dragons. Okam, now wise in the ways of listening to the wind, chose new dragons to lead the tribe in harmony. Feniks was chosen to lead the tribe and guide their future, she enlisted the older dragon Magic to lead a guard to keep the tribe safe.
The older figurehead of the tribe, Helios, was chosen to learn the art of healing when the winds told of there to be a new leader. Now the tribe is supported by the leadership of Feniks, Magic, and Helios. The winds now whisper to Okam of a long future.

The Autumn Winds tribe sends their young out among the world at an early age. Most hatchlings remain unnamed until they have proven themselves to be loyal to the tribe by showing an act of bravery or skill. Such as coming to the village at an early age after being sent out to the world from another tribe, or finally catching just a glimpse of the whispers in the wind.

Why do you now find yourself among these dragons? Is it that the winds have called you here? The Autumn Winds tribe happily welcome you to their secluded village. The dragons emerge from all around to greet you. Some even fly out of the Crescendo itself. You can feel the tremor in the ground as a large imperial steps out of the reeds behind you. They had known of your presence long before you had arrived. From the small reed shelters built along the cliff face wafts the smell of food and herbs. Somewhere nearby is the nursery and healers den. From the twisting crescendo flies a lithe skydancer. Her wings cut through the air and her eyes drift over you without any concern. This dragon is Feniks, ruler of this mighty roost. With one word the dragons surrounding you would be bristling in fury, ready o drive you off the steppes one claw at a time. For now you seem to be beneath her concern, but you should make sure not to draw any unnecessary attention to yourself if you want to stay. For now the dragons are happy for a bit of news. The dragons usually only get news from the dragons who go to collect deliveries, or the occasional letter by a dragon sent to aid the Windsinger. You are different. You are new.

For now you are welcome to stay among these friendly dragons, sharing news and occasionally prey. But soon will come the question of how long you will be staying. Even some of the most loyal wind dragons drift away as if carried by the wind to another place. For now you must rest and regain your strength. Feniks will be ready to hear your questions when the time is right. For now she is sitting with Okam, listening to the stories riding on the winds.
