In the wake of a mysterious, shadowy fire that razed the easternmost lands of the Tangled Wood and the Sunbeam Ruins, the massive city of Vogelzang rose from the ashes of a humble trading crossroads and sprawls high above the pines, beckoning travelers to brave the thick mists that encompass it. Here, on the magic rich soil of the land, the pines grow more massive than anywhere else in the Shadowbinder’s domain, and are twisted into massive buildings and homes for the cities residents.

The Institute of Intrigue is an academic organization dedicated to researching the wonders of Sornieth within a massive, mechanical marvel of an airship. Despite popular belief that its researchers are foolhardy, thrill-seeking nutjobs risking their lives by sticking their snouts where they shouldn’t, the Head of the Institute, Angio, insists that its intentions are purely academic, in order to cover up the fact that most of her colleagues wouldn't think twice about upholding that belief.

Is Mabel's Sakura Owl Familiar supposed to be a nod to the Maraca Owl from Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained? Just curious because I loved the Gravity Falls shorts along with the show.
