Stanzascale's Clan
Being kind to yourself takes practice, but is worthwhile.
Clan Info
Hi, Stanzascale here, who has gone by that name as a beta tester and when writing on deviantArt. Though I'm not very active on the latter of late, I have a folder where I keep FR-related things: http://serensa-stanza-scale.deviantart.com/gallery/43231730 |
I am attempting to ensure that all dragons who are to remain in my lair have some degree of personality and hi/story, although I have moved a lot of my dragons into the hibernal den.
Feedback on my writing is welcome! There'll be messes from work scattered over ten years admittedly. An in-character clan intro is at the bottom of my profile.
Regarding periods of activity, I'm 8 hours ahead of server time.
Dear friend requesters,
I generally prefer to have talked to someone before accepting a friend-request. That being said, feel free to PM if you'd like to talk.
Dear collectors,
I'll try save some of you a spot of time and trouble now and highlight that I am a pack-rat/hoarder/whatever-term-you-prefer, and won't be selling beta or KS-backer gear in the foreseeable future...and yes, I checked with the clan's Water dragons.
Full wishlist.
How canonical relations are can admittedly be inconsistent. ^^;
I may edit a post a few times on account of noticing typos, realising I misread something or generally realising that what I wrote could be improved.
As a general rule, feel free to poke me with a spork if there's something I've forgotten but should be doing.
As I may ask what you mean, feel free to ask what I mean.
Allies
The Eternal Glow clan. |
The Clarus Clan. The Nomad Clan. The Viper Clan. |
Deep Waters |
Want to ally? No matter your Flight, the Stanzascale clan would be interested to hear from you (PM and we can figure stuff).
Tiny glowing fungi run in parallel lines to one another, giving the semblance of a path. Occasionally there are chimes, glowing as they sound in the wind, calling dragons home.
The arch at the end of the path is cracked, but the pieces are suspended in the air by some aberration of gravity. A chipped bell slowly pivots in the air above the apex of the arch. The whistling of a stone from a bolas flying through the air can be heard. A deep toll announces the arrival of a guest, and the wooden gates open.
The lair has more garden than intact structures. Luminescent fungi dominate, naturally, but some lilium, herbal plantain and tundra bloom survived the Stanzascale clan's disaster of a transition to these Woods.
Work on erecting shelters proceeds, and those skilled in Nature work on coaxing the brambles to at the very least not try drag down what little they have.
A giant bulb is left abandoned behind the largest structure of the lair, cracked and broken. Light mages monitor the grounds with a cloud of firefly-lights.
Kindness or foolish defiance?
Whether sudden new neighbour or an old contact of the clan, questions about their arrival are expected. An experimental portal ritual which drew upon the knowledge of Arcane, Lightning and others, was what flung the lair and its inhabitants across the Tangled Wood. Expeditions out to rescue lost clanmates and recover fragments of the lair are ongoing.
The main building and its entrance survived, if not wholly unscathed. The bunting with the colours of all the Flights has been replaced. The banner has been mended, emblazoned with an eleven-rayed sun, each ray a fabric in a different Flight’s hue. Miraculously, the granite slab set in the threshold with the clan's vow seems completely intact. Inscribed in it are the words:
‘Existence is a puzzle: the more eyes who share, the more that we see. Those who choose only their own eyes are blinkered.
‘To battle prejudice and bigotry with tooth and claw, magic and spirit.
‘To enlighten all willing to open and be open to those willing to enlighten.
‘To never be bound against the will or to bind.
‘To help those in need and not be ashamed of our own weaknesses.’
The clan have directions to other groups in the area.
The Witches raise their young in a sinkhole forest, Hazel Hollow, to the west. Step lightly.
In the sky a Crystal Comet soars, whose clan have a history of hospitality.
The Benighted Bailiwick Bureau have set up camp to the north as they investigate the Grey Grove.
