In a remote corner of the Rotrock Rim, a clan known as the Mercenaries of Impurity conducts business with their fellow Plaguelings and other Flights. The owner of the clan, Avalinia, or Ava for short, tracks all of the profits made by the Mercenaries and trains new adults the ways of life before releasing them to serve their deity of choice. Although Ava owns the clan, it is Zahira who represents her and the Clan in all matters of business.

Mercenaries of Impurity is a band of plague-born dragons who specialize in profiteering for their clan and flight. When they are not profiteering, they are training in the Coliseum alongside young adult dragons, perfecting their fighting skills and making money on the side.
