All dragons with familiars or attire are NOT for sale.
"Well, this is unexpected"
"Why so? We always knew we were at the very edge of the Observatory's influence. I'm surprised it's taken this long for the tides of magic to roll over the Lair"
Adelaide looked over the nesting grounds, where the bright green of new bamboo shoots was quickly taking over, and the eggs were settling to the ground, and the purple glow was fading. She flirted her crest in a shrug.
"I still feel uncomfortable. I owe the Observatory too much to embrace this change without guilt"
The Shaman Ghost twitched her tail in acknowledgement. A good handful of Attermire's dragons, feeling the change, had politely but firmly said they would be happier remaining under the Arcanist's influence, and had taken off over the past few days.
"You have paid" she replied. "You have paid in your time, your energy, your hatchlings. You have paid your debt. Write a final report, if you must, about the changes. It's valuable information. Who knows? Sooner or later, the tides will turn again. We may come back under the influence of Arcane, we may end up serving yet another Great One for a while. But the Windsinger is a happy and benevolent Great One. We could do much worse."
"Yes, you're right. Of course you're right. But it is a big change for me. The Observatory is where I was happiest."
"Attermire is what you have made it, Clan Mother. We are safe, productive and thriving, and that's down to you. Here is where your happiness should be."
"Bah! Shaman, you talk too much. Does that feckless assistant of yours have any sweetgrass tea? All changes should be toasted with a cup of brew, don't you think?"
"Oh, indeed. He started heating the kettle as soon as you appeared, of course. Luccio! Brew up!"
Adelaide sighed and settled her wings a bit closer. Change was always hard, but some corner of her soul welcomed the idea of travelling forward into the unknown. And in that moment, in that as yet unexamined part of her, the Windsinger woke up, and began to sing.
