TL;DR- America is a cesspool of awfulness, I should probably go to college in a better country, and I hate being a gifted child because I am constantly stressed.

Sorry for all the notifications, I just needed to vent.

There is almost certainly a link between neurodivergence and increased brain function.

I, personally, am an example of this. I have ADHD and autism, and and IQ of about 140. I am smarter than most adults.
And you may be thinking, "oh cool, they're a gifted child" but it's not. It's not cool. Heightened intelligence is good, cause I'm smarter than people, but it also sucks, cause... I'm smarter than people. Being more intelligent than others means pressure is CONSTANTLY put on you to be the best, to do the best in all your classes. It means that the people who are envious of your intellect are going to bully the crap out of you.

I also have an inferiority complex, meaning I feel as if I'm basically useless unless I weaponize my intellect, meaning I am not the nicest person IRL. I have trouble making friends, because again, I am not a nice person and have difficulty connecting with others.

Teachers in America make like 30k a year. FAST FOOD WORKERS MAKE MORE THAN THAT. Let that sink in. Our teachers often have to buy school supplies themselves, because they aren't given enough money from the education system to do so. These people aren't getting nearly enough money to educate and deal with the hyperactive children of today.

And speaking of hyperactivity, I keep hearing about kids who get bullied for being neurodivergent. Heck, I'VE been bullied for being neurodivergent. And there are people who believe modern medicine gives kids autism and ADHD. Like no??? It doesn't??? And EVEN if it did, that's not necessarily a bad thing! Because in my experience, neurodivergent kids are a LOT more creative and intelligent than kids who aren't neurodivergent. I knew a severely autistic kid who couldn't even speak properly, but my god, could he draw. He could draw cartoon characters without a reference and make them look exactly like the cartoon. He could do math faster than I could.

Also, our economy sucks. Inflation causes EVERYTHING to be more expensive. Pre-pandemic, everything at Dollar Tree was a dollar. Now it's A dollar and twenty-five cents. The cost of housing is rising, the cost of gas is rising, the cost of food is rising, everything's going up, but people's salaries? Nope. They're not. It is REALLY hard to get a job in this country unless you go to college, which again, won't guarantee a good job, and will give you debt.

And our education system sucks. Instead of actually making sure we learn stuff, we're just expected to memorize it and do well on our tests. And if you do the work, you get a grade, and if you can't do the work, LITERALLY NO ONE CARES??? Like I've seen kids struggle, I've seen kids act out, and instead of trying to work with them, the adults just get mad at them. And I can't blame them either, because our teachers don't even get paid enough to deal with a bunch of kids every single day!

Like, you, for example. On the internet, people can sometimes be respectful, and understanding because not every single person on the internet is an American. I bet you, if you told someone about having a DID system in America, most uneducated people would immediately brush you off. Cause Americans SUCK. Not every American is like that, but like, most of them are, especially in super conservative areas. Unless an American has a degree in mental health or they're a more open person, they're not going to understand and will just dismiss you. However, in, Switzerland for example, they're pretty open-minded. An uneducated Swiss person will probably have no idea what you're talking about, but I bet they're more willing to learn than most Americans, because Americans are ridiculously uninformed about mental health and stuff. It's really bad. A lot of adults in America have 0 clue about mental health and will dismiss it.
