The Routic Imperium is a coalition of clans united under the rulership of House Router. After the Silk Union of the Windswept Plateau was conquered in a bloody coup, Princess Silkrouter and Prince Silkdice were forced to flee; resulting in the creation of the Imperium, alongside the Allied Die Kingdom. The original territory of the Silk Union has since been ceded to the greater Vulcan Empire. As such, Queen Magmicvulcan and the Vulcan Empire became the sworn enemies of the Routic Imperium and the Allied Die Kingdom.

They are allied with Critter's Lil Guys, a commune in the Tangled Wood led Critter, the Witch Queen.

The history of the Routic Imperium is tracked in historical periods known as Eras. The beginning of a new Era is typically marked by a change in rulership, or a change in location of the Imperium's capitol. The key factor in determining the division between Eras is a radical change that redefines the nature of the Imperium.

• Genesis Era (March 26th, 2022 - April 7th, 2022)

  Beginning days of the Routic Imperium. In these days, the territory was known as the Routic Clan. It was ruled by the official First Union. Under the leadership of the First Union, the clan's territory encompassed great sections of the Highland Scrub. Their administration was primarily focused on domestic issues; seeking to quickly acquire a great deal of assets.

  
  
• Expansionist Era (April 7th, 2022 - April 20th, 2022)

  A period of great expansion of power under the administration of the First Union. The name of Routic Imperium was officially adopted once its territory extended towards The Source. This era marks the formation of two of the Imperium's most influential families. Several prominent politicians began vying for power, leading to a power struggle during the final days of the First Union.

  
  
• Opposition Era (April 20th, 2022 - May 13th, 2022)

  The unexpected rise of the Second Union brought great change to the Routic Imperium. Its administration was viewed as opposed to that of the previous one. The ruling families became divided by conflict, separating into opposing factions. The power struggle, now known as The Birthright Conflict reached its peak. Its end was marked by surprise attack led by King Bluegolem of the Allied Die Kingdom.

  
  
• Militaristic Era (May 13th, 2022 - Present)

  A return to the status quo brought an air of fear and authoritarianism to the Imperium. The arrival of a deadly plague provided justification for the consolidation of power under the Third Union. A Great War is soon waged in the west; its presence threatening to induct the Imperium.

The Routic Imperium is ruled by two authoritarian heads of state, typically a King and Queen; although the exact titles may change to reflect the nature of the government at the time of ruling. The changes in heads of state and their administrations are represented by a Union between two dragons. The tradition of governance by Unions extends back through the Router Family hundreds of years; with the belief being that the two dragons would balance each-other out as rulers.

A Non-Union administration is referred to as an Autocratic Sovereignty, with one dragon representing the Imperial Rulership. They are generally frowned upon, as a single head of state is considered to be untrustworthy. However, they are not explicitly forbidden by law, and may occur in times of extreme duress.

Inactive Factions

Birthright Faction of the Routic Imperium A paramilitary organization led Prince Guaporouter, Princess Lapis, and Chief Warmaster Mosspelt. It was formed following the rise of the Second Union. The three founding members felt that the Second Union had stolen the throne from them, seeing it as completely unjust. They are responsible for Birthright's Bloody Dawn, a failed attack on the Imperium capitol. Many were arrested as a result. Their efforts eventually culminated in the rise of the Third Union.
