Fight for your life. Fight tooth and claw. Fight until your bones bend and blood stains your maw.
This is the philosophy of those who live in the Badlands. From hatchlings to adults, dragons are taught that every experience they have would work together to harden them, to strengthen them, to enliven them, and to wisen them. If you aren't dead yet, Mother favors you. She sees you fight and wills you to live on. Plagueborn are built this way, to be bendable and mendable. Anything can be overcome. In the Badlands, we know hardship. But we also know kinship.
When the portal opened, dragons saw horrors they had never seen before. Their fear heightened and their hopes wavered. Otherworldly beings crossed into the world, and threatened our very way of life.
However, no change is without purpose. This is the way we were taught. Being Plague is to accept change and follow it. So we did. We learned new languages, discovered new delicacies, created new alliances and adopted new family. These monsters we saw and feared were not much stranger or more dangerous than the life we already knew. Though it was difficult, as we changed, so did the Badlands. We are more full of life and color than we have ever been, and though our appearances and attitudes may scare and offend other dragons of Sornieth, we like our way just fine.
about me raven - he/him My favorite color is red. I love Mirrors, Ridgebacks and Wildclaws the most! (Spiky bois are the best) Always collecting bones, fertility statues, idols and effigies. This is an exalting lair but I will give back a dragon if you ask nicely. |
