The lair is in a canyon behind a twisting labyrinth of lava rivers and lava falls, tucked away in hidden caves where none but the cleverest Fire dragons can find it. It looks entirely natural but much of it is a work of Ember's architectural genius.

An advanced metalworking station is at the heart of it all. She created this place to pursue her work in isolation and peace, and will do whatever it takes to defend it. But despite all that Ember has proved accepting of a few fellow refugees, who have expanded the lair to contain humble living quarters.

Food is hard to come by, once their meager stores are gone they must travel far to find it in lands more hospitable to life. This was Ember's major oversight, so focused was she on her work. Ashes and his wife have been put to work on a solution, having the most to lose with a family on the way.
