Shadows... Shadows and Darkness... Deep crevass... a rocky outcropping...

The Clan's first Guardian, Galadrian, has been in the Reedcleft Ascent for many Long years, guarding the Human caretaker known only as Fayt.

Since he found her surrounded by the Shadows and half dead from a fall in her childhood Galad has never left her side.

Raising her and teaching her as well, perhaps better, than any human could have, he taught her how to survive in the Ascent.

She kept the Lair alive, she brought in shells, plants.. insects. The Guardian hunted and brought in the meat. She found other Dragons and she brought them in, gave them a home until they were ready to move on, or chose to stay and become a part of the clan.

The cave was built into a mountainside, up a steep wall that would challenge the most graceful goats, and deep into and alcove made of three smaller hills that all steepled into a small mountain valley where water collected and a small habitat of natural prey animals lived.Every season during major migrations the dragons would go on a mass hunt and move new prey into the mountain valley. It had become a thriving, self contained ecosystem.

Eventually the Guardian took a mate and the lair grew. Soon, ancients surfaced in their world and one day an ancient rose from the bowels of the caves and upon discovering a two legged hatchling caring for so many different species in one happy home, the ancient dedicated itself to the safety and happiness of the cavern.

They called her the Den Mother; Guardian of the Gate.

Fayt called her Friend.
