She sat on the mesa, the wind whipping her eyes, her wings slightly unfurled. She could feel the drag of the air on her fur and hear the wild song of the deep earth below her. That's when she knew who she would be now; Mesasong. She looked around with critical eyes at the rough stone around her. It wasn't much but it was enough. A foothold. A beginning. She felt a fierce pride well up inside her. This would be her home.
