Clan of Fragile Earth:

A Clan that was founded on a vein of crystals. The original founders became rich off these mines, building a lavish paradise with the wealth they built. Little did they know the danger lurking within them. Dragons began finding crystals embedding themselves in their skin, each afflicted dragon losing a part of themselves. Some lost crucial memories, some senses, some emotions. Dragons began being born with crystal scales. The Clan tried to move but found that those crystalbound were bound to this land at all, growing weak if they tried to leave. Unwilling to abandon their afflicted kin, the Clan of Fragile Earth resigned themselves to living in this cursed land.

The Cult of Night:

Feeling forsaken by the land, dragons began turning to the skies for their salvation. A dragon named Iris, feeling heartbroken as his afflicted mother ceased the ability to feel love, had a dream of a giant dragon encompassing the entire night's sky. He began spreading word among the Clan, and soon had amassed a small group of followers, believing in this Night god who would free them from their earthen prison.
