Clan Info
The dragons of the Clan of the Many Wings (CMW) are divided into roles, or "ranks". The main categories are "Warriors", "Healers", "Defenders", "Hatchling-Sitters", "Hunter/Gatherers", and "Helpers".
Warriors make up the clan's so-called "army." They are the dragons that invade territories, raid travelling groups, and fight in battles.
Healers are the dragons that care for any illness and injuries that dragons of the clan may acquire. They use magic and herbs to heal.
Defenders are the dragons that regularly patrol outside the lair for any possible ambushes, attacks, invasions, etc. They then warn the clan and work together with the what Warriors are present at the time to fight off the threat.
Hunter/Gatherers are some of the most important dragons in the clan. Their sole job is to Gather Items and hunt for food for the entire clan. It's a big, tiring, job that is a necessity. They get treated with the utmost respect.
Hatchling-Sitters are simply the dragons that stay in the lair and watch over any hatchlings there. If there are no young ones in the lair, they usually work with the Helpers.
Helpers are the dragons that stay in the lair and tend to anything that needs to be tended to. They clean the lair, watch the nests, distribute food, relay messages, and run errands for the entire clan.
Along with the main categories, there are some special ranks that only one dragon acquires. These are the "Leader", the "Alpha (Fe)male", the "Deputy", the "Advisor", the "Trainer", and the "Psychic".
The Leader is the dragon that leads the entire clan, assigns ranks, organize invasions and raids, determine schedules, regulate nests and breeding, and keep in touch with the Lightweaver.
The Alpha (Fe)male is the dragon that is second-in-command. They help enforce the Leader's decisions, keep discipline within the clan, hand out punishments, and help assign jobs to idle dragons.
The Deputy is not the same as the Alpha dragon, prior to popular belief. Instead, they are the dragon that shadows the Leader, learning from them and occasionally giving orders to clanmates to learn how to lead so that they may become the Leader when the time comes.
The Advisor is often the reason that Leaders don't crack under the weight of their stress. They give advice, lend a helping hand, keep them company, and are one of the only dragons that is allowed to treat the Leader as an equal, which can help make the Leader feel less isolated. Sometimes they are just there to lend an ear and listen.
The Trainer is unique in the sense that they are reasonably skilled at all of the general ranks. They give the hatchlings lessons every day on the various general ranks, and when the time comes, the Leader will come and assess them, choosing what they are best suited for as their rank. From there, one of the more experienced dragons of the rank will give them a more detailed education on the rank's responsibility.
The Psychic is an important dragon that doesn't do a whole lot most of the time. However, when they are put into action, they are invaluable. Psychics can sense distress signals sent by other clanmates from any distance, and they can pick up any mental messages that the Lightweaver or any other deity might send out. They are the main link between the clan and their patron, and without them, the clan would have no connection to the flight they are a part of, leaving them a group of rogue dragons.
This is the main structure of the Clan of the Many Wings, and a dragon's rank can be found in bold at the top of their biography.
