Clan Lore
Like a towering wall in the middle of the desert lies The Sahra Bazaar, a in immense plateau of sandstone, several kilometers around. On its flattest side lies an impressive city, carved from the rock in square houses stacked upon each other - and then abandoned. The castle decaying, the residences empty, the previously so well-tended fields overgrown and sandy. The nearby pillar that served as a marketplace stands half-filled, the temples at the bottom of the walls are dusty and untended, the shallow cracks and canyons in the surface uncharted, and dark things lurk in the tunnels below the surface.
But it is not empty - not by a long shot. It is a waystation for travelers, a home to hermits and outcasts, and a trading post that stands out in the Wasteland. Alliances and individuals are constantly coming and going, but there are some permanent residents.
The Duskwing Clan is one of the greatest mysteries, the famous traders that always seem to have a surplus of items. They are careless and will take any excuse to celebrate, but their habit of speaking in riddles and disappearing, as well as their penchant for theft and lies make them dubious at best.
The Sandwastes Clan, while operating on a code of honor, us usually avoided. They are famous worshippers of an ancient pagan goddess of death, and that alone is enough to scare off some - that combined with their love of trials, survival of the fittest attitude and willingness to fight for coin make them fearsome, indeed.
The Desertstar Clan is perhaps the oldest of the permanent residents, having lived in the city for many generations, but they are a shell of their former selves, and speak of a horrible incident and dark secrets lurking in the city. They have a mournful air around them, they speak way too little and pray way too much.
