Way back when, Myrmidos was clan leader in the shadow of the Observatory. Rather than becoming a paragon of might and sorcery himself, he hired mercenaries to defend his lair and fight for his glory. One of them returned with an abandoned Earth egg, who hatched into the clan's new leader, Anka. Seeing no future for the growing clan among the Arcanist's discarded relics, she relocated them to the Viridian Labyrinth where they prospered in quiet obscurity.
The recent changes around Sornieth brought the clan into contact with a Spire Acolyte, who was able to promise Anka access to resources for her ongoing research, in exchange for the might of Nethyliir. Trading the clan's great tree for an atrium in Goldenspark, they are determined to find the root cause of the elemental upheavals, and to bring peace back to the Labyrinth.
Progress at the Spire became increasingly hampered by red tape and regulations that seemed to pop up and then disappear overnight. Frustrated by the lack of response from the upper echelons of the Flight and by Lyriel's expulsion from the Spire, the Nethyliir dragons pulled up stakes to look for the Chief's lost daughter. Vector's investigation lead them into the Southern Icefield...
