[i]As you make your way back to the Beacon of the Radiant eye, you find a certain excitement filling your chest while you press your treasured scroll cases against it. You were practically over-cumbered by them, but your finds today were simply astounding! Though your excitement was enough to send you higher into the sky, you lowered yourself further to the ground. While on the way home, why not stop to visit a few friends? Share your newfound knowledge with your colleges, and perhaps brag a little about your find... However as you make your way into the Mirrorlight Promenade, a chill passes over you upon the realization that the locale is eerily silent. Usually you could her the chatter and drawls of various dragons, or at the very least, the calm quiet of studying. Even as you scour the landscape, neither hide or hair of any dragon could be found. In fact, it looked as though some sort of hulking beast had passed through the area... You tense upon the thought, worry filling your skull for the friends that lived here. Against your better judgement you light down, heart pounding in your chest. You draw in a nervous breath as you think to call out for the attention of someone, but you can't find your voice. Setting your scrolls aside, you start to trot about, looking this way and that for any sign of life. Perhaps the assailant had already left... Or at least that's what you hoped. That's when you saw it, raising its hulking form of the utterly demolished ruins. One head emerged, followed by another, then another, then another... Eyes rolling this way and that, tongues lolling about as an unearthly stench accosted your nostrils... You press yourself against the earth, unable to rip your eyes from the nightmarish sight, praying desperately to the Lightweaver that the beast didn't see you. A final head appeared, this one painted in dark shades. It held an orb of light between its jaws, its tongue brushing against it as if the orb were some tasty treat. Then it looked in your direction, its bright yellow eyes like a beacon through the dust. Its wicked fangs tightening around the orb, and you could hear it breaking under the pressure until there was a loud, powerful CRACK that echoed between the ruins. The creature's mouth was now filled with a glowing liquid, which it lapped up greedily. The other heads shifted, turning towards the other as they too started to lick up the golden substance from its jaws. The dark head snarled and snapped its jaws at them, all while still trying to claim the precious liquid as its own. But the beast had surely seen you, now, made apparent as it was slowly lifting its weighty body out from the crumbling structure. Just when the other heads locked on to your presence, your own body finally managed to get into motion. You flopped onto your back as you try to turn around, your legs splaying and flailing as you try to roll back onto them. You flap your wings furiously, panic setting in as the beast was surely hot on your tail. After a few failed attempts, you manage to get yourself into the air. Once you were high enough to be out of its reach, you dare a glance at the monstrosity behind you... It seemed as though its wings were too tattered and weak to even lift itself into the air. A hidden blessing, but you certainly wouldn't dawdle for long. Surely the Lightweaver had to be told about this problem... She could handle it, surely! You swallowed the lump in your throat, your heart still pounding madly throughout your body.
