If you did not know, it's the Riot of Rot! A celebration of survival and progress in the face of certain death! A time of, well, growing strong. BUT! Survival does not just mean physical toughness, but also mental prowess. And what better way to enhance your problem solving skills? Not puzzles, but creative writing. Thinking of things you may not have, and exploring all possibilities, no matter how silly or farfetched they may seem. Survival favors the prepared.
NOW! If you take some of the writing supplies, you must oblige me by showing me your skills as a writer...

The Snapper stands and clears his throat, looking down to a crumpled sheet of paper he was laying on. Certain points seem especially important in what he says.
Rules and Guidelines wrote:
  • Each day for a week I will offer you an idea to write on. It may be ridiculous or dire. Daily prompts will be limited to 1,000-2,000 words or shorter. Poems are also acceptable for daily prompts.
  • There is a larger writing project I offer to the brave, focusing solely on the Riot of Rot and spanning the whole week. Each submission should be limited to a maximum of 4,000 words.
  • You may only receive a prize for one daily prompt, but may submit one every day if you wish. If you win a daily prompt, you are also eligible to win the week-long prompt.
  • There will be a first, second, and third winner for each prompt, and they will receive a prize or prize pack of some kind. This is decided by our kind judges. This ranking does not define your skill as a writer, so do not let it discourage you.
  • Please notify me of your submission, so it can be properly processed, recorded, and judged.

So to be clear:
  1. Daily Prompt -- 1,000 to 2,000 word maximum depending on prompt. Poems accept.
  2. Must be submitted before the end of the Flight Rising day -- before the server clock hits 24
  3. Week-long Prompt -- 4,000 word maximum. Poems not accepted.
  4. You have until the end of Riot of Rot to submit the week-long prompt (26th-2nd)
  5. One daily prompt winner per person but you may submit writing for fun if you win. Winning a daily prompt does not exempt you from the week-long prompt.
  6. Prizes for first, second, and third. Winners are chosen by the judges listed below.
  7. Ping Vakali on your submission.
  8. You may post your story in thread or Google drive
