The ground is surprisingly solid even though it looks like mud, deep cracks running through it that lead into underground caverns. Ice crystals p[size=1][size=1][size=1][size=1][size=1]e[/size][/size][/size][/size][/size]rick at your feet as you move, leaving dark, wet stains where your feet have been as you progess across the frozen terrain. Small patches of grass sprout from cracks in the earth, and upon inspection, they seem to be completely frozen, too, shattering like glass when touched. The air here is still and dry, not a single sound audible besides that of sall rocks and chunks of frozen earth being dislodged as you walk. [color=transparent]xxxxx[/color]Up ahead is a cavern-like feature, which seems like it broke off of the ground when the earth shifted, crumpling the land like paper. the earth beneath them seemed to be made of white stone. [color=transparent]xxxxx[/color] No wonder it was so solid. Everything below you was stone. Or was it? [color=transparent]xxxxx[/color]Your research party progressed, making steady work towards the large stones sticking up out of the ground. But when you got close enough, you noticed something different. They were not white stones. They were massive pillars of ice. Everything beneath your feet must be frozen for miles around if something thiss large made of solid ice could have been pushed up out of the ground. As you approach them, the earth creaks, telling you that this site is still wholly active. You touch the ice once, and what seems to be strange shadows dance beneath the surface of the crystals. You send the two other members of your group around back to see what the situation is, and where they came from, when one reports back that there is a large, cavernous sinkhole just a few metres behind the rocks. [color=transparent]xxxxx[/color]This place truly is strange. [color=transparent]xxxxx[/color]What kind of dragons would you trust to explore this land of ice and stone? Will you step forward and explore the deadly permafrost and uncover it's secrets, bringing glory to your flight? Or will you get lost in the darkness that surrounds such a place? [i]Usually[/i] it swallows all that it encounters in the warmer months. If there is a such thing as [i]heat[/i] on these elevenforsaken icebox islands. Anyways, I'm the keeper of the permafrost here. Very deadly. I strongly warn you against going too deep. You might find the last research party that your flight sent out here. It's so cold that nobody really... goes away. You've probably heard the rumors about a 'dark and feral' magic that plagues these lands, but it's really none of that. Really, it's just the Icefield's natural geological cycles! Everything in his life is an experiment and he will try to turn everything in everybody else's life into an experiment too. He joined this expedition because he's sure that he'll find something of scientific value. Nioxxes thinks he's the leader of the group but he really isn't. He joined this expedition purely to challenge his own limits and see how far he can go. Her visits to her home clan are intermittent, punctuation in the tales of her questing across Sornieth to visit its most sacred places. Aello's definition of 'sacred' doesn't always match up with others', however, leading to her constantly wandering in search of the places that call to her soul. When she heard Nightreign's story, she felt the call grow stronger, and has determined that the permafrost caverns are her next destination. She had always wanted to explore the permafrost caverns, ever since she had first heard of them, but wary of the dangers she heard of, she decided to wait several years and strengthen herself. Even her precautions couldn't help her, however, and she fled the caverns shortly after entering. She refuses to speak of what exactly she found, but swears up and down the place is cursed with dark magic. She moved to the Isles to seek Arcane assistance in determining if she had been cursed, but her story intrigued the Allclan's more... [i]inquisitive [/i]minds. Against her better judgement, she now guides a pair of Allclan dragons to the caverns. [b]Dragon 3:[/b] Yache [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=35364059] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/353641/35364059_350.png[/img] [/url] Descrip: Yache was [s]stolen [/s]adopted from the Viridian Labyrinth as an egg, then passed from clan to clan. There was always some reason - she wasn't pretty enough for some, others didn't want a Nature dragon in their clan, so on and so forth. Admittedly, in her later years, that reason was often "She's too interested in the Shade", and it certainly wasn't a lie - though not the entirety, either. It wasn't just the Shade that fascinated her - it was all manner of dark, forbidden magics. Living on the outskirts of Arcane clans, she picked up lots of pieces of knowledge, and way they seemed to fit together intrigued her. Nowadays, she lives with the Allclan, who, true to their name, don't seem to mind her interests. When she heard of the possibility of curses and dark magic in the permafrost caverns, she immediately volunteered to go.
