[columns]
Jurassic Park is an American science fiction media franchise centred on a disastrous attempt to create a theme park of cloned dinosaurs. The dinosaurs escape confinement and terrorize the human characters. It began in 1990 when Universal Studios bought the rights to the novel by Michael Crichton before it was even published.
The book was successful, as was Steven Spielberg's 1993 film adaptation, which led to three sequels, although the third and fourth films were not based on novels as the first two were. Numerous video games based on the franchise have been created by various software developers since the release of the 1993 film.
[nextcol]
Jurassic World is a 2015 American science fiction adventure film and the fourth instalment of the Jurassic Park series, as well as the first film in a planned Jurassic World trilogy. The film was directed and co-written by Colin Trevorrow, produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, and stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. The production companies were Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment, also responsible for the rest of the Jurassic Park franchise, and Thomas Tull's Legendary Pictures. Set 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park, Jurassic World takes place on the same fictional Central American island of Isla Nublar, off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, where a theme park populated with cloned dinosaurs has operated for ten years. The park plunges into chaos when a genetically created dinosaur breaks loose and goes on a rampage across the island.
Universal Pictures intended to begin production on a fourth Jurassic Park film in 2004 for a summer 2005 release, but the film entered over a decade of development hell while the script went through revisions. Following a suggestion from Spielberg, writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver explored the idea of a functional dinosaur park. Once Trevorrow was hired as director in 2013, he followed the same idea while developing a whole new script with Derek Connolly. Principal photography rolled from April to August 2014, primarily in Louisiana while also using the original Jurassic Park filming locations in Hawaii. Again the dinosaurs were created through computer-generated imagery by Industrial Light & Magic and life-sized animatronics by Legacy Effects, a company created by the alumni of Jurassic Park veteran Stan Winston.
[nextcol]
By far my favourite movie is Jurassic World, but that may change with the new movie coming out; Fallen Kingdom. "Four years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing return to the island of Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcano that's about to erupt."

ECHO based off of Echo in the movie Jurassic World
ECHO based off of Echo in the movie Jurassic World
I used to have a rather MASSIVE collection of Jurassic Park merchandise from back when the first couple of movies came out. While I did have plenty of the toys and other items (everything from promotional tie-ins from fast food and other businesses to posters to bed sets with pillow cases, sheets and blanket), my favorite was always the stuff that was made as if to come from within the world itself. Some of the stuff fits that bill just because the original movie logo was used in the movie for the park itself, but I also had other items like InGen t-shirts and coffee mug. I also had a Jurassic Park visitor's pass that was a giveaway at a comic convention (might have been SDCC, but I'm not 100% sure as it was given to me from a friend).
Unfortunately, a good chunk of it has been lost (some in a fire, some between moves, and some was outright stolen).
I haven't completely seen Jurassic World yet. I rented it then ended up in the hospital, then later tried to watch it on TV (it has been on FX this past month) and every time something prevents me from finishing it (power outage one time, unexpected family member visit the next). Hopefully third time is the charm...

That is mighty unfortunate.
I actually have a massive collection that could even loosely tied to JP or JW. Dinosaurs mostly, but I also have handmade sculptures of bones and one hand-made clay representation of a velociraptor foot. I also have several bird skulls, a turkey foot and a finch foot thrown into my collection just to sprinkle in my opinion the dinosaurs and birds are linked via Archaeopteryx.
