Flight Rising Treasure Tips

Welcome to Sornieth! Flight Rising is a fun game with a warm and welcoming community, where you can amass and beautify dragons for the low, low price of - wait, how much was that gene you wanted again? 250,000 treasure? Oh, no...

The enormity of Flight Rising and its gameplay options (and accessorization) can be daunting, especially when finding your perfect dragons can cost exorbitant amounts. It can be disheartening to see veterans of the game tossing around loads of treasure, while you're cramming pennies into your pocket to buy a new hat.

But be not afraid! Those veterans are here to help, and treasure isn't as difficult to acquire as one might believe!

This is not a comprehensive guide for everything Flight Rising - it's just about how to make treasure, both now and in the future! Feel free to reply to the thread with questions, and refer to the FAQ if you get confused. Remember to read at your own pace, too!

Her prices are significantly higher than those from hoardselling. She also has a new set of 4 to 5 offers available every hour, so checking in with her multiple times per day is a good idea. However, you always want to check the Auction House for whatever she’s listing, for two reasons. The first is that if the item is really cheap on the Auction House, but she’s offering a significant amount of treasure for it, you might want to buy it and sell it to her. Don’t worry, refreshing or leaving the page doesn’t change her offer, meaning you can, in fact, acquire the item and return to her with it! The other reason is that you don’t want to sell an item to her for a small amount of treasure is when it would go on the Auction House for significantly higher. The items you want to be most wary about are apparel and battle items, since these will usually sell for either a very high or very low price. For example, you can throw in any food item and you will always get Goo, but the goo could be any color, regardless of the quality of the food item.

Crim’s Collection Cart

Here are some tips you can use during your clan’s daily life. Gathering Put your Gathering Turns to good use! The main way of collecting food for your dragons in Flight Rising is gathering, but if you get excess food, you can sell it as described above, instead of converting it into food points. But be careful - once you convert food into food points, you can’t get it back to sell it! If you’re not looking for food, you should definitely spend your turns Scavenging and Digging. Both of these get you materials and trinkets you can sell, but also sometimes give you something special! For example, Scavenging rarely yields Unhatched Eggs, which are SUPER valuable sold in the Auction House. If you go Digging during an elemental holiday, you can get chests! For example, during the Flameforger's Festival, you should go digging in the Fire flight, to get the Fire Flight’s elemental currency (Glowing Embers), as well as to get chests! You can open the chests to get skins, or sell them for profit, and the same goes for the elemental currencies - sell or spend, it’s your choice! Selling Dragons You can try to breed dragons and sell them on the AH to start, but you probably won’t make a ton of money this way. There are so many dragons on FR that doing something like running a hatchery isn’t very profitable when you consider the time and energy you would put into making it. So breed and sell dragons casually, not as your main way of making money long-term. Also, always check the lowest prices for dragons on the AH (aka fodder floor) when you sell them so you don’t underprice them. With that said, you can also breed Plentiful and Common dragons, which have a short breeding cooldown - such as your progenitors - as fodder, to sell them for around 7 or 8kt each as adults. Another option is to fodder-breed with the intent of exalting them yourself, but be sure to level them up if you’re going to do that. More on that a little later. You can also buy Hatchling fodder on the Auction House, wait for them to become adults, and then sell them at adult prices. Familiars Once you start to collect familiars, make sure to equip them. To do this, go to a dragon’s page and click the ‘Change’ button on the familiar window. This will allow you to attach a familiar to a dragon. You can bond with your familiars once a day to earn treasure, and chests every time you reach a new tier of connection. Before long, you will have more familiars than dragons, but there is an easy way to bond with more than one familiar using one dragon. Start by opening a dragon’s page in your browser tab, then open the ‘Choose Familiar’ page in another tab, generally by right-clicking on the button. Make sure you can see both tabs at once on your screen! Now, click Bond in the first tab, and before clicking ‘Okay’, switch out the familiar on the second tab. When you click ‘Okay’, another familiar will be there, ready to bond! Another tip about familiars- when you bond with them, you’re really bonding with the entire “species” of familiar. That means that, for example, if you have a Yellow-Throated Sparrowmouse and you sell or transmute it, if you get another Yellow-Throated Sparrowmouse it will be at the same level of bonding as the one you got rid of.

In Your Clan

There are a lot of things you can do in the Clan tab that will get you a lot of treasure, if you do it wisely. Here are some tips you can use during your clan’s daily life.

Gathering

Put your Gathering Turns to good use! We will focus on the first two. The Fairgrounds The Fairgrounds are a good place to start making treasure. The games here are pretty fun, and award treasure for progressing through them. Other users have found that Artifracture awards treasure the most efficiently, though it’s only profitable compared to its difficulty up to Level 10, at which point you’ll have about 12kt. The only downside to the Fairgrounds is that there is a daily cap of 75kt, which means that’s the most you can earn in one day. Still, it’s a good place to start - that’s a lot of treasure for a new player! The Coliseum The Coliseum is both the most efficient and the most costly way for an average FR player to earn treasure and other items. With 3 Level 25 dragons, you can grind all but one of the Coliseum Venues with ease, as well as levelling up fodder to exalt it at a much higher payout than you would otherwise receive. Having a full team also allows you to grind for festival currency during Elemental Holidays, which you can trade for rare items or sell, as we mentioned earlier in the guide. It also gives you lots of items and familiars, which you can also sell. Having even one Lv 25 ‘trainer’ dragon (a dragon built for a specific venue to train other dragons up) will let you indulge in exalting and participate in Dominance, too. However, it takes a very long time to level a dragon to 25, and costs a lot of money to give a full team all the battlestones they will need. Don’t expect to use the Coliseum for any real profit until you fully understand Dominance and Exalting, but don’t be afraid to ask other users or look for guides to help that understanding. Many players use Culex’s Leveling Guide as an all-in-one basis for Coliseum grinding and levelling. It’s lengthy, but it contains a lot of useful information, so read it all when you get the chance. The coliseum is, without a doubt, the best long-term investment you can make to earn treasure in Flight Rising. However, it IS a significant investment of time, money, and research, especially without a trainer. Many players choose to utilize a leveling service, where another player trains some of your dragons up for a small fee. Using a leveling service has many benefits because it allows your dragons to be trained faster than you would be able to yourself, as a newbie. If you’d rather try it yourself, however, most flights have a service for renting out Level 25 dragons to train or grind with. Also, the Coliseum can get quite boring, so I recommend either listening to music in the background, or opening a different tab and watching Youtube/Netflix while you farm or train. For the latter, simply resize both tabs so they fit on your screen at once.

Miscellaneous Tips There are other ways to earn treasure on Flight Rising, all of which are worth noting. Here, we have gathered the rest of our tips. Art & Other Services If you’re a skilled and patient artist or writer, you could consider taking up art on Flight Rising. Art is one of the most efficient ways of earning all kinds of currency on FR, from treasure and gems to rare items you want, and artists are always in demand. However, commissions take time and patience, and setting up an appealing art shop can be difficult. The editor and graphic artist for this guide, Lumi, has an art shop here that serves as a good example of how to set up your art shop and what you might offer. Be sure to never offer things you aren’t willing to draw, and to never be shy about raising your prices if you feel you’re putting more in than you’re getting out. The most popular art shops also have graphics. Graphic artists are in even higher demand than illustrators, since the formatting of a forum post can make or break its productivity. If you want to take a stab at graphics, you should, but they can be extremely intimidating. Fortunately, Lumi offers graphic services for all kinds of threads at a very low price with new-player discounts, and they’re always excited to meet new affiliates (artists who support and advertise each other for mutual benefit). If you’re interested in opening an art shop, contact them with any questions you might have! Finding Gems If you don’t have access to or don’t want to spend IRL money on gems, there are many ways to acquire them. Flight Rising itself only offers gems in small amounts, from chests or by keeping your dragons well-fed for over three consecutive days, but you’ll be saving up for something you need gems for for a long time that way. Alternative methods are to sell things on the Auction House for gems instead of treasure, or to trade treasure for gems with other players through the Forums. Gem conversion rates vary with supply and demand, as well as from trader to trader, since it’s set by the players and not the staff. There is a guide here on what to keep. Don’t be afraid to use the forums, especially the Help Forums! The FR community is very welcoming towards new players (as you can probably tell by this guide), and no question is a bad question. We were all new at some point! :) And lastly, remember to have fun! Flight Rising can be a bit complicated at first, but take your time exploring the different features of the site. Pretty soon, you’ll get the hang of it and develop your own style of playing. I hope you found this guide to making treasure helpful!

Miscellaneous Tips

There are other ways to earn treasure on Flight Rising, all of which are worth noting.
Here, we have gathered the rest of our tips.

Art & Other Services

If you’re a skilled and patient artist or writer, you could consider taking up art on Flight Rising.

Finding Gems

If you don’t have access to or don’t want to spend IRL money on gems, there are many ways to acquire them.
