I was in the scrying workshop earlier when I saw that orca hex sort of looks like shattered glass, mirrors, etc that is disappearing into nothingness, and upon making a dragon out of it I got the idea to turn it into a subspecies!

With the ability to hide the past and see the future, Shatter dragons come from a few lineages that have been blessed (or cursed) with terrifying abilities. Original records of the ability's acquisition have been long lost, leaving current generations to question why they are forced to carry such a burden. Rediscovering their origin have become a shared mission by all shatters.
The curse had left the original dragons with bleak color and odd markings on their wings, as a constant reminder (or warning) to themselves and others of this strange power.
Recently, there has been a group of dragons who have formed in opposition called the Preservites, who are dedicated to the control of these dragons. Believing that memories and the past should be concrete and preserved, they hunt and capture Shatters to keep them away from others. Solitude believes this noble claim is a ruse, and something much darker lies within the group. Many of her friends have been taken by them, all of whom she has never seen again.
In lieu of this, Solitude and a few other magically gifted Shatters built the Protectorate, a safe haven for all Shatter dragons, encased by complex, invisibility runes that screen an entrant's intentions. If the intentions are pure, the Protectorate becomes visible to only that particular dragon.

The main power of the subspecies is the ability to shatter the memories of others, but this power comes at a great energy cost and should only be used when necessary to preserve the health of a dragon. This can be used for healing and therapy or as a weapon. The larger and more important the memory, the more energy and concentration required to erase it. For example, shattering the memory of a parent will likely require the full concentration of at least two Shatters.
The more minor power includes being able to see fragments of possible futures of another being (like flashes of an event), from possibilities of success to those of death. Having a stronger bond with the other being allows them to have a deeper sense of the future, but perhaps that will only lead to pain later on. Knowing about a loved one's impending doom is not a pleasant thing.
Maybe using the main power too much ages and weakens the dragon? Think chancellor palpatine in his duel with mace windu lol

Hello again!! Thanks, I have a few ideas on how to develop it more, but I think I'll wait a bit and see how the subspecies is received ;m;
Regardless, I think I'll end up trying to get a pair that would produce nice shatter babs bc I really love the way these look!
