To make up for their lack of eyes, the whole subspecies is much more sensitive to magic than even normal Skydancers. Their sight stems from magic and can they see light and dark magic radiating off of dragons on either side of the scale. Like other strong mages, these dragons can use magic for a variety of means. Their sight is universal. Moving objects and reading thought and emotion are also basic skills that all Miraluka share. Their magical perception allows for the Miraluka to feel immense magical disturbances across Sorneith regardless of their distance to them. A war between two flights would be sensed by all Miraluka. Pinpointing specific individuals with a natural propensity to magic requires training and a strong connection to magical energy. Like all other species, Miraluka individuals vary in how connected they are to the magic around them. As a culture, the Miraluka are a very close knit group. All Miraluka consider themselves kin. Being so dependant on magic, almost all are shocked when shown any life not connected to magic. Thoughtful and cautious, Miraluka are well attuned to their surroundings. They accept both life and death and do not believe in 'good' or 'evil.' They don't have much interest in personal gain be it in wealth or glory either. These factors make it very difficult for the species to fall to darker paths, however like all mages they can feel the pull to it. Visibly the only main difference between Miraluka Dancers and other Skydancers is their eyes, but Miraluka have notable difficulty breeding with other species - even other Skydancers. Though odd to other cultures, to Miraluka this power is like any other. It useful, practical, and it is something that the whole species relies on throughout their daily life. Like any other kind of power, their magic can corrupt. Miraluka who fall prey to the pull of what some call the Dark Side, use their magic with much darker intent. They can still move objects to and fro like most others. Their abilities to read thoughts is heightened with experience in tapping into the thoughts of others, even if they do not consent it. Many of these dragons read the emotions of others, the strife, the guilt, the pain; they do so and they enjoy it. Where others would heal and protect, these dragons use magic to harm and wound. Mind control is common, and spikes of pure dark magic can cut and cripple dragons as easily as claws. These dragons are still Miraluka at heart. While some turn to the Dark Side, forsaking their species' ways, others turn for differing reasons. Some merely can not put faith into good intentions. They fight, but it brings them no joy. [center][size=5][b][u]Favored Apparel:[/u][/b][/size] [i]The choice of apparel between Miraluka and their variants are said to be one of the most fluid a culture can have. As a species uninterested in any personal gain, they have almost never been seen in jewels or finery. Most seem to wear cloth that matches their natural colors and little else. Many Miraluka blend in with their surroundings by nature, but some will stand out even if they don the same armor as those around them. Their species is and has always seemed almost identical to normal dragons, yet a part of them will always seem more foreign then the Eleven Deities themselves. These suggestions are a very rough guideline. Those said to err to the Dark Side frequently only do so in nature, and the Light Side does the same. Perfectly normal Miraluka can also be seen wearing the cloak of either magical faction as well. OOC Suggestion: Dress your Miraluka with their motives and personality in mind. A Light Side variant could cover themselves in a Peacebringer's Cowl, a Gossamer Veil, Gossamer Silks, Teardrop Pearl jewelry, and a Silver Sylvan Dress as a way to outwardly show that they are a servant of the Light Side. In this case, the silks and pearls are not a symbol of personal wealth and status, nor are they a show of power. The Miraluka probably couldn't care less for the value of these items (to themself), and would easily give them away without a second thought. The only items that Miraluka as a whole almost certainly don't wear are Flourish Jewelry and Crowns. Silks can be worn in coordinance with the rest of their chosen outfit, or for the rare Miraluka who does care for personal possessions - they can be used as a status symbol. As a general rule anything made of a precious stone or metal probably won't find its way onto a Miraluka in large amounts. As shown above there are definitely exceptions. Lighter, more modest colors, [b]might[/b] be worn on a Light Side variant. Darker colors [b]might[/b] be worn on a Dark Side variant. [b]What the Miraluka chooses to wear is generally a personal preference and choice[/b]. It can be affected by circumstance, and rarely it will depend on their variant. All of the below items are about as fluid as water in terms of which Miraluka is wearing them. Personal guesswork - If the species doesn't care for personal gain, they have no reason to draw attention to themselves with flashy and bright apparel.
