Quirks Of The Clan III

Family relations

Uncle and Nephew: Krixis & Kole

Kole isn't exactly anyones favourite Imperial due to his abilities to sense other beings Emotions and Spirits, and in a way their minds, he unconsciously blurts out that he feels from other dragons in a semi cryptic manner, it was a little unnerving and very uncomfortable for some, Krixis was the only dragon -aside from his parents- not to pawn him of as a 'weirdo'.
he had quickly recognised his gift for what it was and helped his nephew learn how to block out what he sensed, as he had once known an old spirit healer in his birth clan who had the same ability. Kole would spend a great deal of time with his uncle In the healers dens, watching him work and even helping out a few times, the two grew quite close.

Aunt and Niece: Keridan & Kosanne

Keridan and Kosanne are so close that anyone from outside the clan would assume that the two of them are Mother and Daughter instead of Aunt and Niece. since Keridan and her sister Karanai had their first clutches around the same time. the two would often group them together, and naturally the hatchlings liked spending time with their Aunts, Kosanne however sort of imprinted on Keridan and whenever she felt she needed help with something she would go to her Aunt more often than to her mother. Kosanne's blue mantle was a gift from her Aunt when she was chosen to be the Winter's Run messenger.

Cousins: Kaboto & Kaeifen

some would joke that the only thing Kaboto & Kaeifen have in common is the lack of any Arcane from their parents, with them taking more from their Father and mother, but these two are nearly inseparable. when not contributing to their jobs as Clan fighter or Whirlwind Sprint Messenger, they can be found playing their version of tag or sparing. if you were to tell one the other was in trouble they would literally drop whatever they were doing and rush to their cousins aid.

I just wanted to share the lore of one of my dragons, Sinna. Collector and purveyor of ugly and expensive sweaters everywhere, Sinna is well on her way to establishing a collection of sweaters that she plans to eventually arrange into a gallery for other Dragons to view. How did this venture start? Let's just say by her putting on one to start with. From there, her curiosity grew--just how many sweaters are out there in need of a good home? If nothing else, she will give them the care and home they desire. Just, don't tell anyone but Sennet yet, okay? She's not sure she needs the whispers about what she does in her off-time coming around just yet. So, this begs the question--what does she do outside of collecting and making sweaters? Although the Clan is fairly small and will probably stay that way, Sinna's main role is to make the final judgments in major Clan decisions, left to her complete discretion. For all of her shenanigans outside of business, Sinna is a fairly mild-mannered, if not pragmatic, Fey that tries to make decisions based on what the most benefit to the Clan would be.

@BlueFireDrakka And here's the lore for well...Lore. If there's one dream Lore's always had, it's been to travel to distant places and see the world. Thus, her current position within the Clan as their Navigator enables her to do so. When not simply trying to reach the sun or exploring the shadowed bowels of their home, Lore keeps up-to-date on various topics ranging from games to new places discovered by other dragons. Taking pride in her excellent sense of smell and sharp memory, Lore devotes great time to memorizing maps and maintaining the immaculate condition of the new maps and objects she's collected throughout her travels. A new arrival to the Clan, Lore still hasn't quite gained her footing in the group, perhaps exacerbated by her untalkative, unwelcoming nature that leaves her from being entirely approachable. Aside from being aloof and inquisitive at the same time, Lore takes a certain pride in her overall appearance, spending time making sure she isn't unfit to be in the presence of others, a value pushed onto her by her obstinate, perfectionist parents.

What an awesome idea for a thread, i love reading other clan's stories! Guess i'll share some of my clan lore :0 Fair warning though nothing in my clan makes sense, it's more of a catch-all fantasy and i think of all my dragons as if they are humanoid so... ???? Yeah anyway: This is Wetherly. She's always had a mind for business, and as a young dragon set out to make her fortune. After several intense weeks of haggling with a dead faeirie king she purchased an expansive ranch out in the country and settled down, excited by all the new possibilities the ranch held. Not too long after that she reconnected with an old friend and together they started their ambiguous business, doing things and selling stuff. No one really understands what happened after that, we just know that now the ranch is home to a myriad of vagabonds, outcasts, and tourists from other planes of existence. With all that newfound labor Wetherly was able to expand her business; now it's even more ambiguous! Day-to-day life on the ranch can be a little crazy, but everything always gets done somehow. Wetherly's philosophy is anyone who sets foot on her land is to be considered family. And you have to be nice to your family, but you also have chores. Dragons eventually find something they're good at to benefit the rest of the clan; some choose to stay permanently, others come and go. Wetherly never would have expected this life, but so far it's been pretty good she reckons.

This is for Sennet: The founder of the Clan, Sennet often spends his days collecting trinkets of little or no value--like bird skulls for instance. Sure, they make great decorations for his sapling covered nest that he otherwise keeps from getting too cluttered, but they also tend to worry those who come to visit him. However, Sennet will not be stopped. Fittingly, it seems he's started making apparel out of the bird skulls, and wears them as ornamentation. No, no one else has to wear them, but he thinks it's better than Sinna's bright sweater. Resourceful and ever unpredictable, Sennet's reactions to most things vary by the mood he's in at the time, and whatever whim he's decided to entertain. Furthermore, Sennet is fairly good at crafting things from objects around him, and adapting old things to be more efficient with the resources he has. Like making bird skull apparel, for instance. A lover of the supernatural and anything creepy, it is the wings of dead insects that have been strung across the walls like masterpieces, and the claws of prey that have been made into little hooks for necklaces and the like. When not engaged in making apparel or collecting bird skulls, Sennet may be found patrolling the edges of his Clan's small patch of territory, or making up ghost stories to tell others at the weekly Clan gathering. As the scout in the Clan, it is his duty to keep an eye out for any trouble that should come their way, and to report unseen things to the navigator, Lore.

Relationships between Clan members (Part I): Sinna and Lore Since the Clan is certainly only starting to take off, the deeper roots of friendships and romance and all those deep things have not yet fully rooted between the members of the Clan. However, if there were two dragons that became friends any faster, Sinna and Lore would be hard pressed to find them. Meeting in what could only be called a 'crash landing' (Lore nearly squashed the poor Fae when Sinna was out hunting insects), Lore apologized profusely for the mishap, and spent the next week taking care of the tiny Fae. Within that time, she decided that she'd discovered her Charge--and lo and behold, it was the Fae herself that Lore would come to spend her time protecting. It's certainly hard doing so, don't get me wrong. After all, for all of Sinna's pragmatic decisions made for the Clan and such, when it comes to hunting for expensive and sometimes ugly sweaters , Sinna is willing to get injured if she can just find the one she's looking for. This is something, this recklessness, that Lore has spent hours lecturing the smaller Fae on before, with little luck, much to the Guardian's displeasure. For that matter, Sinna also attempts to protect the much larger Dragon when she can, not that it helps that she can get blown over by the harshest breezes and is exceedingly clumsy. Still, should one eavesdrop on Clan matters in the middle of the day (when things are at their quietest), they may hear the laughs of two dragons--one exceedingly high pitched (Lore's), and an unexpectedly deep one coming from the Fae as they recount their misadventures to each other or as Sinna attempts to get Lore to try on one of the many sweaters in her collection.

This calls for a Story drop~! The Day Kokurond Saved The Clan Kaya trotted her way to the Food stores, they'd had a recent influx of Hatchlings -courtesy of Spring Instincts-. More dragons meant more food needed to be gathered to feed everyone. the Store's were completely full, all the way to the back of the caves were filled with seafood, Insects, Plants and Meat. it seemed they need not hunt for a while, it would be some time before they hatchlings grew and thus needed more food, they had enough to last them. or at least they had thought... "oh dear...this...this is not good" Karos commented as he picked a tiny sliver of meat form the empty store cave. Kaya clutched her horns in distress "I should have known...we should have just stuffed it to the roof or...Gotten more food alive or ..." Karos rubbed his head against his mates with a rumbling purr to try calm her down "We'll just have to put off eating for a bit until we can fill these again, and then we can just have daily hunting-" Kaya pushed her mate off "No! this cannot happen Again! we need to make these Bigger to hold more. More mouths; more food!" despite being a little hurt his mate had pushed him away he nodded in agreement "alright, lets try keep this Quiet for now, I'll talk to Killon about organising a large hunting party, You see Kirave about making the the Store caves bigger" with a quick nose bump the two set off in opposite directions [s]-----[/s] Kirave was cutting Granite blocks when Kaya approached her "are you Busy Kirave?" the earth Guardian lowered her tools "no more than usual KayKay, what's up?" Kaya looked around to make sure there was nobody in earshot before whispering "the food stores are empty, theres nothing left" "WHAT!?" Kirave shouted and Kaya quickly shushed her "we need to keep this quiet for now, the Stores need to be bigger to hold more, you think you can do it on an empty stomach?" "Depends on how much more space you want, but I'll see how much space we can dig, don't want another lava flood like that time Kentaurus wanted the Hoard bigger and started to ram the walls" [s]-----[/s] Killon was playing some kind of perch game with Wraith when Karos found him, the Nature dragon immediately gave the Navy one his attention "Clan Leader. Hello" "hello Killon, we need food...a lot of it" Killon looked confused "but. I was on a hunt yesterday. we got much" "the stores are empty, we have nothing left." "That is not good. too many mouths. Need more, More Hunters. Make the trip big?" "yes make it as big as you can bring as much as you can carry, and right now we don't care what kind" "It will take time." Kokurond then sprinted to the Lair entrance, and caught the gathering parties just as they were about to leave "Killon! wait a sec I need your help" "I have to hunt" "Im going to get allot of food and I need you guys to help me carry it" "ah. Alright" the hunting party turned courier followed Kokurond to the Markets, the slips of weird paper were sold for a very hefty sum, doubling the amount of treasure Kentaurus had given him, they then made a beeline for the food section of the auctionhouse, buying as much huge food as they could, they had more than enough to last them. Kaya asked in awe, the nature dragon shook his head and Turned to the Ridgeback "not me, Kokurond" "then how did you do this?" the Water dragon shrugged sheepishly "auctionhouse? some clans supply food for a living so...I got as much as I could" the food was sorted into type and moved into their respective stores. there was more than they could fit. Kokurond was Named Leader Of the Water Branch and TradeMaster. under his expert skills the clan was never hungry again.
This calls for a Story drop~!

The Day Kokurond Saved The Clan

Kaya trotted her way to the Food stores, they'd had a recent influx of Hatchlings -courtesy of Spring Instincts-.

Kaya clutched her horns in distress "I should have known...we should have just stuffed it to the roof or...Gotten more food alive or ..." Karos rubbed his head against his mates with a rumbling purr to try calm her down "We'll just have to put off eating for a bit until we can fill these again, and then we can just have daily hunting-"

Kaya pushed her mate off "No! this cannot happen Again! we need to make these Bigger to hold more. More mouths; more food!" despite being a little hurt his mate had pushed him away he nodded in agreement "alright, lets try keep this Quiet for now, I'll talk to Killon about organising a large hunting party, You see Kirave about making the the Store caves bigger" with a quick nose bump the two set off in opposite directions

Kirave was cutting Granite blocks when Kaya approached her "are you Busy Kirave?" the earth Guardian lowered her tools "no more than usual KayKay, what's up?" Kaya looked around to make sure there was nobody in earshot before whispering "the food stores are empty, theres nothing left" "WHAT!?" Kirave shouted and Kaya quickly shushed her

"we need to keep this quiet for now, the Stores need to be bigger to hold more, you think you can do it on an empty stomach?" "Depends on how much more space you want, but I'll see how much space we can dig, don't want another lava flood like that time Kentaurus wanted the Hoard bigger and started to ram the walls"

Killon was playing some kind of perch game with Wraith when Karos found him, the Nature dragon immediately gave the Navy one his attention "Clan Leader. Hello" "hello Killon, we need food...a lot of it" Killon looked confused "but. I was on a hunt yesterday. we got much" "the stores are empty, we have nothing left."

"That is not good. too many mouths. Need more, More Hunters. Make the trip big?" "yes make it as big as you can bring as much as you can carry, and right now we don't care what kind" "It will take time."

Normally Kentaurus would argue with Kokurond 'just because its expensive dosn't mean you are allowed to sell it!', but right now the Light dragon was too hungry to care, he promptly stood up and tread into the 'other' section of the hoard, rummaging around and hauling out a large box filled with torn notes, each slip bore old writing,

"these should do you, they sell for about 500 each, there's a weird scholar that likes em in the markets. something about codes, he'll probably pay you well for it", the guardian then turned and hauled out a large sack, "around 15000 treasure in there...it should get you whatever you need" the ridgeback took the box and sack and placed them in his net "thanks Kenta, this'll really help" the guardian grunted as he laid back down.
