The Darklit Clan is a huge mess conspiring against itself. On the tip of a mountain known as Talontip Peak, deep in the Twisting Crescendos, lays a tyranny at a risk of being overthrown. And they are not righteous monarchs. They are tyrants, no matter how you put it. They want power. They want respect. And they are not afraid to get violent to have it. Once you’re in their clan, as far as they’re concerned, there’s no escape. The only way to get out is death. But are they wrong about that? Who knows. But either way, they’re manipulative, cruel, creatures. And Bo’s vicious, animal-like, sense of violence, combined with Sol’s emotional manipulation, are one force to be dealt with. Which is precisely why the Rebellion is prepared.

An army of small rebels in the caves underneath Talontip Peak, at a camp which they call ‘Violethollow’, plan to overthrow Bo and Sol’s reign. For some of them it’s about revenge. They’ve escaped, and are seen as dead in Bo and Sol’s eyes. But they want to avenge all the years they’ve lost. For others, it’s all they’ve ever known. And some just want to feed off of the chaos and violence, desperate to overthrow anything and anyone for their own benefit. Either way, the Rebellion are just as much of a force to be reckoned with.

But are they truly any better than the true leaders of Sullenrule? They’re willing to go to dangerous, cruel, extremes just to destroy Bo and Sol. And they’ve begun to raise a child-Messiah known as Maura, who they’re practically brainwashing into believeing she’s a prophet. Is the Rebellion truly a selfless act about freeing dragons? Or is it a deranged cult worshiping a mere child?

The clan has fallen into chaos, with uncertainty storming both above and underneath the surface of the ground. And no-one even knows what madness drove the clan to this point. Except a few prime suspects, who seem to hold hints of the past.

Hoo boy it’s been a while since I dropped one of these. This was based off the bummed out feeling of being (perhaps unintentionally) snubbed in an RP forum a while back, for context and use of clan names that are not mine Here is: @Alnilam and the RP In question is: The Alnilam Ball, it suspiciously ended shortly after I had joined it, maybe they got bored, maybe I’m difficult to RP with, Maybe I just have sh!t timing, I dunno the reason it just ended really suddenly and since my post was the last on the forum before it ended, it made me kind of sad and sort of led me to assume that I killed it. This has actually been sitting around on a word file for a little while so it may be a teensy it out of date, but my clan lore has been relatively stable so it’s still technically Canon as far as BlueFlame Lore goes, so I figured why not? I think it’s actually the longest I’ve written so far and I think I was saving it for a later date but I figured Meh may as well just pop it on here since I found it recently. Also, kudos to @Alnilam if you actually see this, I’m still kind of sad I missed out on the prime of Your RP, it sounded like it was really fun. And just to be on the safe side: DISCLAIMER: this is not intended to be negative/shamming in any way towards any parties mentioned, it is simply my headcanon/adaptation/recount of what happened AFTER the events of the Alnilam ball. I do not claim ownership of any of the mentioned/referenced dragons which are not mine/currently housed in my lair. They all belong to their respective owners. With that out the way, Enjoy or whatevs. [s]-----[/s] A Snuffed Flame Kaya paced back and forth along the levelled slopes of the Blueflame Lair entrance, her eyes alternating between watching the sky and glancing along the territory horizon, each step seemed to radiate an air of dignity and grace surrounded every one of her footfalls. a nearby LairGuard seemed to have difficulty maintaining their stoic straightforward stare as they seemed to be fighting the temptation to watch their Matriarch pace, their eyes near constantly shifting back and forward between the clan leader and some distant spot on the horizon. Kentaurus approached Kaya slowly but simply sat down instead of joining her pacing “any sign of them FlameQueen? It’s almost sunrise” the male guardian asked, a slight tone of unsaid worry licked the edge of his words. Kaya shook her head “None yet LightLord, but I trust my hatchling to return safe” the fire guardian nodded to the Light one before resuming her pacing A short while passed before 3 figures all but dropped out of the sky and landed before the lair with a mighty thud and a shockwave of ash, each of them had small scratches and scuffmarks adorning their armour and the guardian’s coat had blood flecked rips in places, each of their mouths were stained with blood. Karanai marched up to her Mother and all but shoved a lacquered wooden box into Kentaurus forelimbs “We managed to get the offering back but I think some of them are broken” the sky coloured guardian stated in an emotionless tone before brushing past them and walking into the lair “By the Radiance of the Lightweaver, what in the same of the Sun happened?” Kentaurus questioned after his mate but was unanswered as she disappeared into a side passage. “Are you wounded; Konstantine? Kread?” Kaya asked the two Fighters in a gentle tone and she looked over them for injuries Konstantie had a trickle of blood leaking from his nose and a scratch along one of his cheeks. Kread had a sizable Burn on one of her wings along with a very clear bite mark, both of them were covered in dust and wilting leaves and a few dozen small cuts. The male skydancer shook his head and he and the female dropped to an exhausted kneel “It is nothing life-threating Lady Kaya, we were able to get out of House of Alnilam’s lair before the fighting got really serious.” Kread continued from where Konstantine had stopped “But we did have a bit of a slaughter on the way out. I believe we may have mortally wounded some of the Dragons attending Lady Kaya. we will accept full responsibility of their fates as an independent force from the clan and accept any punishments their clans wish to-” “No. you were simply doing your jobs as Karanai’s escorts. It is near sunrise. the two of you have permission to take today and tomorrow off, I will speak to the FrostGuard personally about you taking these as personal days to recover from this Mission” Kentaurus spoke up, nodding his silent thanks for protecting his mate “I would suggest having your injuries seen to, go now and rest my brave brave Knight-Captains, you have most certainly earned it” Kaya gently ordered flaring her bannered wing towards the Lair entrance. “Thank you LightLord, Lady Kaya.” The Skydancers answered gratefully in unison as they rose unsteadily and staggered their way into the den, taking the same side passage Karanai had taken. Kentaurus looked down at the box before lifting the lid, housed inside was a set of 12 Wineglasses and a decanter shaped like a cut diamond filled with a swirling fire orange liquid. the wine glasses stem and feet were made from white polished marble, shaped to imitate the pillars found throughout the Sunbeam ruins, the bowl of the glass rested on the backs of small gold guardians perched atop the mini pillars whose wings flared up around the glass as if to protect it, their tails coiled down the stems and tiny glowing sacridite crystals served as their watchful eyes, the glass itself were detailed with gold light flight emblems bordered by filigree detailing. the decanter was miraculously intact and unharmed but nine of the wineglasses had varying amounts of damage; one of which was shattered entirely. Kaya picked up the completely shattered one and examined; it the wings were warped out of shape and the head bent down as if the Gold Guardian was hanging its head in shame for allowing its glass to be broken. “such a same, Kurteau worked so hard on these” Kaya sighed as she carefully put the remains of the wineglass back into its place as gently as one would lay an egg into its nest. “he could use the broken ones as scrap and make some new ones out of them” Kentaurus suggested as he picked up one of the seemingly unharmed ones and examined it for cracks before putting it back “I know. but still, if he gets mopey from when Fighters dent their armor; this will break his heart” Kaya nodded sadly running her claws over another damaged one. “then I’ll store it away in the vaults and then go see how-” Kentaurus suggested as he put the lid back into place before Kaya interrupted him “No, take them to the Forgeclaws to be repaired, I will see to Karanai” “But-” “You may be her Mate Kentaurus, but right now what she needs is her Mother” “…You’re right Kaya, I’ll see her later.” [s]-----[/s] The two leaders went their separate ways, Kaya heading toward the healer’s dens, she Passed by Krixis’ den where Kread was having her wing seen to, Konstantine lying on a plush mat with his head hanging over a bowl under his bleeding nose near the back of the den. She followed the sound of pained hisses and rounded the corner and Into Kudurs den. The Sky guardian had stripped down to just her pants, gloves and boots, she was lying flat against the plush mat in the middle of the Healers den, her head resting between her paws, she eyed her mother before focusing on some random spot on the wall. the Pearlcatcher was gently dabbing a medicine soaked cloth ball into a scratch along Karanai’s arm with a pair of tweezers. The smaller dragon cast a backward glance at the elder guardian before focusing on his work. “it’s just a minor case of plague toxin infection, you should be proud of your hatchlings vitality FlameQueen, any dragon with lesser immunity would either be puking their guts out or dead by now” Kurdur’s slightly muffled voice stated and then put the tweezers and cloth ball down on a tray at his side and picked up an amber coloured glass jar filled with some kind of paste. The Parlcatcher took out a wad of the mint coloured paste it and carefully packed it into the wound and then set to bandaging it. “I am proud of all my Hatchlings Kudur. Regardless of what their skills are” Kaya responded, the tone of pride rang clear in her voice. she approached Karanai and nuzzled her nose against her forehead with a comforting purr “what happened at the ball My little one?” Kaya asked gently as she lay down next to Karanai and tucked her hatchling’s head under her chin Karanai was silent for a few moments as tears gathered in her eyes, then the dam broke. The words tumbled out as easily as the tears fell “first we showed up kinda late because of a stupid storm between thousand currents and the expanse and we got all wet so we had to stop to clean up and then stupid Konstan stupidly pointed out that they didn’t take their stupid weapons so everyone was kinda on edge around us and we barely got to talk to the host because of how many freaking dragons were there and then some jumpy assbasket of a Mirror got stabby and started the whole damn chain reaction of everyone trying to kill each other, and then when we were trying to get out; Kread went back for the offering since it had our Clan Mead in it and then she bashed some Imperial upside the head with it after they bit her wing, and then when we were getting out their freaking forest attacked us, Konstantine set some of it on fire but since Kread was a nature dragon she basically told it to bugger off and it did and then we had to hide in a cave near the thousand currents because someone was chasing us, Konstantine went out to deal with them and… and I think he killed them, then after that we just flew off home as fast as we could” Karanai took a deep shuddering breath as she finished and sniffled. “you did your best Karanai” Kaya soothed after her daughter had finished her recount “and you came home safely, that is all I could ever ask of you little one” Kudur offered her a hankercheif as he went to wash his paws, the guardian took it and soundly blew her nose “you should be fully healed in a day or so Karanai, just take it easy and don’t go scratching at your wounds, if they start feeling really uncomfortably warm or itchy like somethings nibbling it from the inside, come see me and I’ll give them another antiseptic wash” the Pearlcatcher gently ordered as he pulled off his gloves and ran them under a stream of water. Karanai nodded as she stood up bowing her head in thanks to the Pearlcatcher “Thank you for treating my injuries Kudur, I think I’m going to go sleep now” and with a goodbye nuzzle from her mother the sky guardian flung her apparel onto her back and made her way to her den. [s]------[/s] “Hello Love” a gentle voice greeted her as she stepped into the den and let her apparel drop off her shoulders onto the floor, her head shot up and the tip of her snout soon had another’s pressed against it, after her moment of shock she nudged back with her nose with a rumbling purr before they slowly parted “Hello Kenta” she greeted back and took a good look at him, he had stripped down to just his wing rings, amulets and sash. “I thought you had to organise the hoard today” Karanai asked as Kentaurus pressed his nose against hers again “I do, but right now you are the most important” Kentaurus replied, his nose still pressed against his mates, he pulled back before rubbing the side of his muzzle against hers his eyes full of affection “I am so glad you are alright. You were out all night, you must be exhausted” Karanai nodded tiredly “I feel like I could sleep forever, everything aches” “then let’s sleep” The light guardian stated as the fire one lent carefully against her mate as he led them over to their nest and settled down against the pillows and furs, his body curled around hers, his head pressed snuggly against hers, his wing resting over her like a blanket, and their tails entwined. “I love you so much” Karanai murmured as she began to drift off to sleep. “and I you.” Kentaurus replied as he soon joined her in slumber. A level below in the lair A Forgeclaw’s wailing over his broken works was gently shushed by the dulcet tones of the FlameQueen.

And just to be on the safe side:

DISCLAIMER: this is not intended to be negative/shamming in any way towards any parties mentioned, it is simply my headcanon/adaptation/recount of what happened AFTER the events of the Alnilam ball. I do not claim ownership of any of the mentioned/referenced dragons which are not mine/currently housed in my lair. They all belong to their respective owners.

With that out the way, Enjoy or whatevs.

A Snuffed Flame

Kaya paced back and forth along the levelled slopes of the Blueflame Lair entrance, her eyes alternating between watching the sky and glancing along the territory horizon, each step seemed to radiate an air of dignity and grace surrounded every one of her footfalls. a nearby LairGuard seemed to have difficulty maintaining their stoic straightforward stare as they seemed to be fighting the temptation to watch their Matriarch pace, their eyes near constantly shifting back and forward between the clan leader and some distant spot on the horizon.

Kentaurus approached Kaya slowly but simply sat down instead of joining her pacing “any sign of them FlameQueen? It’s almost sunrise” the male guardian asked, a slight tone of unsaid worry licked the edge of his words.

Kaya shook her head “None yet LightLord, but I trust my hatchling to return safe” the fire guardian nodded to the Light one before resuming her pacing

A short while passed before 3 figures all but dropped out of the sky and landed before the lair with a mighty thud and a shockwave of ash, each of them had small scratches and scuffmarks adorning their armour and the guardian’s coat had blood flecked rips in places, each of their mouths were stained with blood.

Karanai marched up to her Mother and all but shoved a lacquered wooden box into Kentaurus forelimbs

“We managed to get the offering back but I think some of them are broken” the sky coloured guardian stated in an emotionless tone before brushing past them and walking into the lair

“By the Radiance of the Lightweaver, what in the same of the Sun happened?” Kentaurus questioned after his mate but was unanswered as she disappeared into a side passage.

“Are you wounded; Konstantine? Kread?” Kaya asked the two Fighters in a gentle tone and she looked over them for injuries

Konstantie had a trickle of blood leaking from his nose and a scratch along one of his cheeks.

Kread had a sizable Burn on one of her wings along with a very clear bite mark, both of them were covered in dust and wilting leaves and a few dozen small cuts.

The male skydancer shook his head and he and the female dropped to an exhausted kneel “It is nothing life-threating Lady Kaya, we were able to get out of House of Alnilam’s lair before the fighting got really serious.”

Kread continued from where Konstantine had stopped “But we did have a bit of a slaughter on the way out. I believe we may have mortally wounded some of the Dragons attending Lady Kaya. we will accept full responsibility of their fates as an independent force from the clan and accept any punishments their clans wish to-”

No. you were simply doing your jobs as Karanai’s escorts. It is near sunrise. the two of you have permission to take today and tomorrow off, I will speak to the FrostGuard personally about you taking these as personal days to recover from this Mission” Kentaurus spoke up, nodding his silent thanks for protecting his mate

“I would suggest having your injuries seen to, go now and rest my brave brave Knight-Captains, you have most certainly earned it” Kaya gently ordered flaring her bannered wing towards the Lair entrance.

“he could use the broken ones as scrap and make some new ones out of them” Kentaurus suggested as he picked up one of the seemingly unharmed ones and examined it for cracks before putting it back

“I know. but still, if he gets mopey from when Fighters dent their armor; this will break his heart” Kaya nodded sadly running her claws over another damaged one.

“then I’ll store it away in the vaults and then go see how-” Kentaurus suggested as he put the lid back into place before Kaya interrupted him

“No, take them to the Forgeclaws to be repaired, I will see to Karanai”

“But-”

“You may be her Mate Kentaurus, but right now what she needs is her Mother

“…You’re right Kaya, I’ll see her later.”

The two leaders went their separate ways, Kaya heading toward the healer’s dens, she Passed by Krixis’ den where Kread was having her wing seen to, Konstantine lying on a plush mat with his head hanging over a bowl under his bleeding nose near the back of the den.

Regardless of what their skills are” Kaya responded, the tone of pride rang clear in her voice. she approached Karanai and nuzzled her nose against her forehead with a comforting purr “what happened at the ball My little one?” Kaya asked gently as she lay down next to Karanai and tucked her hatchling’s head under her chin

Karanai was silent for a few moments as tears gathered in her eyes, then the dam broke. The words tumbled out as easily as the tears fell

“first we showed up kinda late because of a stupid storm between thousand currents and the expanse and we got all wet so we had to stop to clean up and then stupid Konstan stupidly pointed out that they didn’t take their stupid weapons so everyone was kinda on edge around us and we barely got to talk to the host because of how many freaking dragons were there and then some jumpy assbasket of a Mirror got stabby and started the whole damn chain reaction of everyone trying to kill each other, and then when we were trying to get out; Kread went back for the offering since it had our Clan Mead in it and then she bashed some Imperial upside the head with it after they bit her wing, and then when we were getting out their freaking forest attacked us, Konstantine set some of it on fire but since Kread was a nature dragon she basically told it to bugger off and it did and then we had to hide in a cave near the thousand currents because someone was chasing us, Konstantine went out to deal with them and… and I think he killed them, then after that we just flew off home as fast as we could” Karanai took a deep shuddering breath as she finished and sniffled.

“you did your best Karanai” Kaya soothed after her daughter had finished her recount “and you came home safely, that is all I could ever ask of you little one”

Kudur offered her a hankercheif as he went to wash his paws, the guardian took it and soundly blew her nose

“you should be fully healed in a day or so Karanai, just take it easy and don’t go scratching at your wounds, if they start feeling really uncomfortably warm or itchy like somethings nibbling it from the inside, come see me and I’ll give them another antiseptic wash” the Pearlcatcher gently ordered as he pulled off his gloves and ran them under a stream of water.

“Hello Love” a gentle voice greeted her as she stepped into the den and let her apparel drop off her shoulders onto the floor, her head shot up and the tip of her snout soon had another’s pressed against it, after her moment of shock she nudged back with her nose with a rumbling purr before they slowly parted

“Hello Kenta” she greeted back and took a good look at him, he had stripped down to just his wing rings, amulets and sash.

“I thought you had to organise the hoard today” Karanai asked as Kentaurus pressed his nose against hers again

“I do, but right now you are the most important” Kentaurus replied, his nose still pressed against his mates, he pulled back before rubbing the side of his muzzle against hers his eyes full of affection “I am so glad you are alright. You were out all night, you must be exhausted”

Karanai nodded tiredly “I feel like I could sleep forever, everything aches”

“then let’s sleep” The light guardian stated as the fire one lent carefully against her mate as he led them over to their nest and settled down against the pillows and furs, his body curled around hers, his head pressed snuggly against hers, his wing resting over her like a blanket, and their tails entwined.

Writing the whole history of the clan here would be lengthy. Anyhow, Hrothgar started a new lair because he did not want to fight his own brother over the throne that had belonged to their father. Firestorm found Hrothgar alone in the shadows and decided to stay. Hrothgar has the Secret Sight - he can in a way see to the heart of a dragon. It was a moonless night and he had been taking a nap on a large rock still warm from the heat of the day. Before he properly woke up he felt an odd heave that pushed him sideways. This protective spell woven by Sage Aldebaran saved his life. The magically loaded strike of a stranger - a blood red Imperial male - cut in two the grey stone he had been sleeping on. Hrothgar automatically took a defensive position. The red Imperial seemed astonished, but ready to finish what he had started. Hrothgar considered the situation. He was clearly older and probably stronger than the young male offending him, and after such a strike anyone needs to reload. The youngster was panting heavily. Apparently he was not used to such super strong magic. Hrothgar almost attacked him, when something caught the fringe of his mind. There was a turmoil inside the heart of the assassin. Like he was not doing this willingly. Hrothgar paused, and studied the young male with his Secret Sight. There was an enormous amount of loyalty in the heart of this would-be murderer. How was that possible? He wanted to know. "Are you sure you want to finish the assassination?" he asked. The stranger shook his head, sadness in his eyes. "No, but I have to." At this point Hrothgar was sure he needed to know why this lad was in his lair, trying to kill him. "Why? Who sent you?" The youngster was hesitant. "Why? Does it matter? I have to kill you and that's it." The young Imperial took a quick leap towards Hrothgar, but the King stepped quickly aside and the slash went harmlessly past him. With the help of Aldebaran's protective magic Hrothgar was as nimble as a weasel. Now he knew he could easily kill this reluctant assassin, but he did not want to. "It matters a lot to me to know who wants me dead. Who sent you?" The youngster sighed. "My Master. He has sworn allegiance to the Nest Valgaroth before I was even born. And I swore allegiance to him when he took me as his apprentice." Hrothgar smiled wryly. This was something Coyote had speculated. Someone in Hrothgar's birth-lair wanted him dead. Nemo had never known who had sent him to assassinate Hrothgar, but Coyote's studies pointed at the lair Hrothgar had hatched in. "Then who is your Master, and why does he want my death? As far as I know, I have not done anything to draw such attention to me." Hrothgar was sure the culprit could not be his brother. No matter how power-greedy and blind he could be, he could not forget the strong bond they had shared. "Was it his own idea, or someone else's?" The youngster was not sure if he should speak more, but his heart forced him to speak. "The order came from the King himself, and my Master and I have to obey. But I will not speak his name. Let the shame be upon myself." Hrothgar took a step back. His heart pounded. His own brother wanted him dead? Why? How could he? But then he forced himself to calm down. There had to be another explanation. "Did the order come directly from the mouth of the King to the ears of your Master?" The youngster hesitated again. Then he shook his head. "No. It was Erling, the aide-de-camp of King Rafgar, who brought this message from the King to my Master." Hrothgar's face was like cut in stone when he spoke. "Uncle Erling, who always wanted the throne for himself." The youngster was close to tears. "Prepare yourself, Your Majesty! I have to obey my orders, no matter if the message was directly from the King or via two other people." Hrothgar knew that the young Imperial was beginning to see what this was all about, but did not have the courage to disobey direct orders. He had to speak fast and wisely. "What was the wording of the oath your Master swore to the Nest Valgaroth? Did he promise to fulfill the King's every whim? Or was it the traditional oath - the one written by King Gunnar, the Lithe?" The youngster smiled. He saw where this was leading - and he liked it. "It was the traditional oath. He swore to act to the best interest of the Nest Valgaroth as long as he lives. And as I have sworn allegiance to my Master, I have to do the same." Hrothgar grinned. "Good. Then tell me, is it to the best interest of the Nest Valgaroth to start a war between our clans?" The youngster shook his head vigorously. "No. It would be horrible slaughter with heavy casualties on both sides." Hrothgar nodded. "I agree. It would be like a snake biting its own tail. Eventually there would be nothing left." The youngster nodded: "That is correct, Your Majesty. By fulfilling that order I would break the oath of my Master much worse than by obeying it." The young almost-assassin sat down and buried his head in his wings. "But what am I to do now? I cannot go back home. Erling would kill me if my Master did not." Hrothgar said: "You can stay in my lair until this is all cleared out and you can go back to your Master in peace - if both of you want that. Or you can stay here permanently if that is OK with your Master. My head-of-intelligence will make sure that my brother finds out about this ugly plan and how Erling used good people for his dirty work. It was not the first try. But this time we can nail the culprit - Erling, my beloved Uncle." He grinned maliciously. The youngster seemed relieved. "I will serve you well as long as I stay in this lair, Your Majesty."

Others, those that believe that shade-infection does not exist, claim that there had been signs of a violent and cold nature in Erebus all along and that the conflict in his birth clan was the spark that woke it. Whatever the reason, Erebus was for a long time a killing monster that did unspeakable things to anyone who happened to stand in his path, including his mate Nyx. Nyx eventually fled his abuse and ended up in clan Silverfields and as if that was the chain that was needed to rein him in, Erebus changed once again. While he is still cold and violent, he has regained control over whatever darkness lurks inside him and his dangerous, calculating rage rarely surfaces these days. Keenly intelligent, he uses his sharp mind and tongue to intimidate and subdue his adversaries instead of brute force. Though he does not show any regret about his violent past, he deeply and truly regrets hurting Nyx and his devotion and bond to his mate is stronger than the strength of the deities combined. The clan does not know what their former leader was subjected to, but he came back broken in both body and mind. His body has recovered, but his mind has not. Ariel suffers from an aquired mental disorder and severe PTSD. So far, he has not been cured from this.

Snow-by-Night is the dragon that found the severely wounded Ariel and brought him back home. The friendly and easy-going dragon now acts as Ariel's guardian and carer. He fell in love with Ariel's former mate Imogen and the two have been formal mates for a little while now. While Snow has not attempted to take Ariel's place as a co-leader, he is well respected and his opinion is usually taken into consideration.
Imogen's story is under construction, but as you can see it is tied up to the other three quite closely, especially to Ariel and Snow.

The "troubled" ones:
There are several dragons in my lair that are troubled (or troubling...) for different reasons.

Erebus is a dark, cold, violent and unstable dragon. Those that believe that the Shade is present in Sorenith believes that Erebus was infected with it several years ago when his personality changed from a somewhat reserved but polite and if not friendly then at least pleasant dragon to the barely contained monster he is today.

He would never, ever hurt her again. That devotion and Nyx's unyielding love for him eventually earned him a place in the clan.

Anyanwu is a horribly failed experiment. The once jovial and kind coatl blacksmith has become an entity only kept alive by a magical mask, mindless and soulless.

Ruby was abandoned, wounded and dying, by her family when they were attacked. Through the stubbornness of her own spirit and of an Earth flight healer, she survived. But the experience has left her angry and bitter, hating Plague and everything that has to do with them with a fervour.

Blight grew up hearing whispers about a half-sister that should not have survived. A half-sister that should not exist. Wanting to impress his mother, the young pearlcatcher learned everything he could about killing, silently and effectively, so he could earn his mother's love by ending this unpleasant existence. He has found Ruby, now all he need is the perfect opportunity to stop her heart once and for all.

Honestly I haven't a lot of lore about this Clan (it still lacks a name), but...there have been a few changes since its inception. The old 'leader' of sorts was this dragon: Scylla wasn't exactly suited to be leader, even as a figurehead, something that was kind of revealed as the group grew larger. After the death of their longtime Charge and companion, they became more withdrawn, and while they still keep going, they're not in a state to be leader. Thus, there was a period where the Clan didn't exactly have a set leader per se, but from that, Cora emerged. Formerly of the Ice Flight, Cora found this Clan to be more to her liking, and after setting herself up to be close to Scylla, she gained enough trust with the Guardian and from others to become the leader. So far, the Clan hasn't seen many problems under her, though she doesn't hesitate to use force should she need to. However, she prefers persuasion and tact over force when enforcing decisions. And bonus: Although one might think Kamrin's position as Clan Seer is something profound....it's really not. Kamrin's visions are more about mundane, albeit useful things--like better places for food and water, how many eggs a pairing might have, that sort of thing. At least, Kamrin sees them as mundane--it's not an ability shared with most of the Clan, so there are those who see any sort of vision as innately significant. As far as her place in the Clan, she simply attempts to keep herself useful, and avoid being seen as 'purposeless' under Cora.

You interrupt the storyteller and ask where the Dreamers came from. She obliges hesitantly, upset about the interruption, "Originally it was just the Dreamweaver, a being as old at time... all of Sornieth had joy-filled dreams night after night and there was peace throughout the different eras. I just did a huge revamp on my lair so that I could get my lore straight considering it was all over the place. Even working on a Subspecies out of it. I still need to add lore to the actual dragons, but I'm good with this intro for now, haha.
