Its name is Cindershroom Summit. The post is set in the heart of an ancient forest where the trees rise up like towers, their leaves ever turning an array of colors; red and yellow and orange, only the newest growths being green. In the forest, the cycle of Fall is ever-present, always growing and always fading. The floor is littered in a carpet of mulch and fallen leaves, rotten logs and stumps peppered throughout the landscape, strewn over darkened grass. The other seasons wash over the forest near the Summit only briefly, a few weeks of a colder breeze, or hot days, or fresh blooming flowers. Otherwise, the sun’s rays always hold onto the same fading warmth beneath the trees, battled by an ever present breeze with just the whisper of chill in it. Most dragons would simply fly over the forest if simply passing by instead of traipsing through, so there are a few landing platforms to rest on, in the highest branches of the largest trees. Winding from them and through the forest entirely, however, there are trails. Each leads out of the forest in one direction, and toward the post in the other. These trails are simple, cleared dirt paths marked out by tiny mushrooms framing the side every so often. The mushrooms grow thicker and more frequently the deeper into the wood one travels, dotting along not just the trails but also the trees, scattered here and there in some places. At the very center of the forest is the summit itself, settled in a clearing surrounded by and inundated with larger mushrooms big enough for Fae to perch on. Some of which grow to even more massive heights, each appearing near colonies of their smaller relatives. The post itself is made up of an arrangement of stands, shacks, and stalls, that fill the clearing. The trading post is often bustling with both traders and customers bustling in and out, some passing through, some staying for longer. A few permanent buildings exist as well, for those that reside permanently in the Summit or work to help keep it running smoothly, all of which are painted vividly to stand out beneath the colorful trees that surround them without quite blending in completely. It is hard to build wooden structures that last in the forest, but they’re well maintained. And then, in the trees, are carefully constructed ledges and platforms spiraling around and above the clearing itself, extending the trading post up into the upper boughs of the mighty wood. Up ahead you see a small, fenced-in enclosure holding some sort of deer attached to a small stable. The stable is quaint, almost uncomfortable. There are only four stalls - all empty. There is a loft above you with various supplies and a small lodging for what you can only assume is an equally small dragon. The air smells of warmth and that hay, and, while there are supplies everywhere, the area is overall tidy. It’s a cozy atmosphere. As you’re getting your bearings, a fae appears, leading what you now recognize as a white-rot deer through the doorway from the pastures to the rear of the stable. She notices you but finishes her work before addressing you. You can hear a faint conversation between the two. One looks amused while the other seems annoyed. The mirror is wearing heavy armor with a satchel while the skydancer is dressed lightly with jewelry. Curious you approach them.[/i][/size] [size=2][b]“Don’t you have enough of those jewels? The lair back home is overrun with them! Besides we are guards we are suppose to be working, not trading when we are on call!”[/b] “[b]Relax Aly it’s been a quiet day it doesn’t hurt to have some fun in these areas.” The mirror pauses for a moment noticing you. “Why hello there!” He speaks warmingly and stands tall. “You seem new to this area my name is mithril and this fussy skydancer over here is Aly.” He points to her with a smirk. “Aly is one of our elite fire mages she’s been living in these areas for some time now. She can also be a bit harsh and stubborn.” Aly looks at mithril annoyed and sets a small fire on Mithrils satchel causing him to panic. Mithril runs off trying to put out the fire on his precious satchel. “I do take my work very seriously for the good of the clan. Unlike this lazy hatchling.” She takes a good look at you. “Are you here for the quests? On closer inspection you can see all the knick knacks and trinkets laying on selves. Behind it are piles of jewels and other various items. Finally you see the owner of the stand, a skydancer who is currently talking to her pet toad. You approach and she spots you. She waves at you and gives you a warm smile.[/i] “Hello there! I am Akako and this little guy here is Fortis.” She points to the toad while smiling proudly. “Welcome to my trade post! Here I do things a bit differently, you see I love collecting items in and outside the flight. But I am limited since my poor toad can’t make those long trips.” She looks at Fortis with a sadden frown. Fortis just sits there watching you intently. “So! Due to this I have set up a shop where I can offer you special items and sometimes rare ones for a exchange of other goods. If you see anything do let me know and we can work something out.” She starts to walk away but stops herself “oh and if you like to add [i]anything[/i] to be sold just come and talk to me.” She smiles at you faintly before running off to tend to a dragon who is buying something. You can’t help but feel a chill down your spine when she said the last sentence.
