Star Cluster Bleps: A Blep Subspecies

Sea Bleps are aquatic creatures, but as of late, strange bleps have been appearing. They have a close connection to the stars, almost as if they were spawned from the stars themselves...

Welcome to the Star Cluster Blep Shop! This is a sub-shop of the main Sea Blep shop. Periodically, Star Cluster Bleps will be released. The normal Pinglist will be pinged whenever there is a restock here.
——Lore——

Some bleps are rumored to be spawned by the stars, but those are merely rumors, and many of those rumors have never been proved true or false. Star Cluster Bleps are literally spontaneously created from groups of stars that have been exposed to high amounts of magic, thanks in part to the work of magical scholars and mages.
Bleps spawned from the same group of stars form a Star Cluster, a collection of bleps with a hive mind.
Most commonly, each star spawns a single blep, usually a Legionary. The largest and most magically effected star produces the Paragon, the head of the hive mind. Depending on the star that spawned them, bleps may have variations, special traits, or even defects.
Most Clusters include between twenty and a hundred bleps, and unlike normal bleps, Star Cluster bleps cannot reproduce within their own Cluster and must rely on adopting other Cluster bleps into their own ranks. Under the leadership of a Paragon, Star Clusters clash, battle, form alliances, or even merge with other Clusters. However, merging and alliances are rare, due to the xenophobic tendencies of Paragons.
Star Clusters build a lair in a hidden, secluded area at the direction of the Paragon. Oftentimes they choose a high-up area with clear access to the night sky.
The goals of a Paragon are varied and unpredictable. Most Paragons seek to protect themselves and their Cluster first and foremost. Their secondary goal is usually to expand their lair and reach.
——Current Star Cluster——

The first Star Cluster that has been discovered is a small Cluster spawned by a group of dim stars that appear in early winter. They have made their lair on a mountain peak, in a network of caverns whose rock walls are studded with glowing ice-blue crystals, like the interior of a massive geode.

Clan Lore
Paragon
Paragons are the head of the hivemind, and usually there is only one Paragon per Star Cluster. Each Paragon views itself as the epitome of Star Cluster bleps, and views any other Paragon as flawed and must be destroyed. In the case of multiples, two Paragons will fight for control of the Star Cluster, unless in the extremely rare event that two identical Paragons were spawned at the time of the Star Cluster’s creation (such as in the event of two binary stars).
Paragons are physically larger and more intelligent than its underlings, and has a natural knack for manipulation. It has some degree of control over the rest of the Star Cluster (the exception being Anathemas). While a Paragon cannot outright control others, it can still implant ideas, commands, and even false memories into their minds. Additionally, Paragons can see through the eyes of other members of the same Star Cluster, allowing it to monitor the lair closely.
One of the most iconic physical traits of a Paragon is the pattern of stars across its black hide. Each pattern is unique to a Paragon, and depicts the stars that spawned the Cluster.

Sentinel
Sentinels are weak-willed, easily controllable Bleps assigned to the task of protecting the Paragon. Their devotion goes first and foremost to the Paragon, and they take orders from no one else. Oftentimes they have extremely high durability and combat strength.
Sentinels are gifted with constellation-like haloes that serve as marks of their position. The haloes, like a Paragon’s markings, are distinct to the blep and usually depict the stars that spawned the Star Cluster.

Clan Lore
Vigilant
Vigilants are spawned with either two heads or multiple eyes (like multigaze dragons). They are often stationed as lookouts, either to guard the Paragon or the entrances to a Star Cluster lair.
Two-headed Vigilants are rarer than even Tribunes, placing them just below Sentinels in terms of rank. Each head is fully sentient, and both have a connection to the Paragon’s mind. The heads are mentally coordinated, meaning that in a non-defective Vigilant, there is little to no conflict between the heads.
The more common multi-eyed Vigilants are ranked below Tribunes. Their multiple eyes make them nearly impossible to sneak past.
Vigilants have no wings, and instead have adapted for stealth. They are incredibly patient, lying in wait until a potential threat to the Star Cluster arises.

Vanguard
Vanguards serve as scouts for their Star Cluster. They are the fastest of their kind, due to their six insectile wings. Vanguards are created randomly from Legionary pairings. They spend little to no time in the Star Cluster, but may briefly touch down to restock on rations or to accept new orders from the Paragon.

Legionary
Legionaries serve as expendable, replaceable foot soldiers of a Star Cluster. They comprise most of the Cluster. They are not particularly intelligent or physically able, and depend on pack tactics to take down enemies.
Legionaries typically have no distinguishing traits, mutations, or features. The only difference is usually the serial number tattooed on their neck. However, occasionally a Legionary can be born with variations, but the Legionary can get promoted to a higher rank, depending on the nature of the variation.

Anathema
Anathemas are typically defective Legionaries. Unlike Beacons, these differences are not just cosmetic, but affect the blep’s abilities. If the ability is beneficial (such as extra eyes or wings), the blep can be promoted to Vigilant or Vanguard.
Anathemas rarely have a mental connection to the Paragon, making them unreliable at best. At worst, the Anathema may act opposite of the Paragon’s wishes, often causing destruction and damage.
The creation of an Anathema often results when a star that would normally spawn a Legionary dies out before the blep is fully created. If the blep would have been a Paragon when the process went wrong, the result is often even more powerful and strange. While normal Anathemas may not be a threat to a large Star Cluster, Paragon Anathemas are actively hunted down by Paragons and pose a massive threat even to the largest Cluster.
