By playing the parts of the game that are fun and possible for you, whatever those are. Options include: -Using Baldwin to melt and sell mats; if you've been farming and have plenty of basic items, this is a pretty good way to turn a decent profit, but does require coming back to the site pretty often to change out mats. If you save the selling for festivals, you can make a bigger but more time-based profit. -Breeding fodder dragons. Even if you don't train yourself, selling fodder dragons on the AH is a steady, constant profit once you've maxed out your nest, and it's incredibly low effort. You can space your nests for a weekly profit boom or for steady profit throughout. -Playing the AH economy; I can't comment on how to do this as I've never had the head for it, but some people do and manage to make steady money. -Running some sort of service/flexing creative skills. Cauldron and nest rental services have a lot of competition so aren't going to make big bucks, but you can sell your coli grinding services if you want a flat rate, you can become an auctioneer for hire, you can find some other niche that might be interesting and fun for you. -Arlo and Gathering are slower ways to make profit, but you can still make profit with them; if Arlo fams and apparel are selling for too low, you can use the Baldwin melt strategy above, and the genes are a small but decent sum. In fact, all dailies will give you a small but steady income that adds up over time. -Fairgrounds, of course; if you're interested in a steady, predictable profit, Fairgrounds is absolutely that and can be combined with the above methods if you have the time and energy. -Edit: almost forgot familiar bonding, which is fairly easy on computer thanks to the arrow key shortcuts, but isn't necessarily a fun option for a lot of people who can't Coli so I didn't think of it. Chests gained through bonding can be sold or opened, and they're account limited— every account gets the exact same amount of chests, so even if you don't bond for a period of time you still have the potential for the same amount of chests as an account that's awakened every possible familiar. There's no guaranteed get rich quick scheme even with Coli; it requires finding something you find fun and sticking with it. That's true of everything on the site, including Coli. The easiest way to make a profit with minimum effort is hands-down fodder breeding; before keyboard inputs were implemented with Coli I couldn't use it at all for a span of years. I made all my money fodder breeding even when I could technically Coli and Fairgrounds, for various reasons including much lower drop rate and non-optimized builds. I Coli these days because I find it fun; if it's not fun for you (general you), though, it's perfectly possible to use the site and make steady money without it, I can say with assurance, because I did for years. Some people do get lucky, with Coli or with some other aspect of the site, but small and steady moneymaking can be just as effective. Edit: Oh! Also if you're interested in Coli giving more goodies for your efforts, only Coli during microholidays, actual holidays, and NotN/WW. Valentine's Day is absolutely the best holiday for food grinding, festivals will give currency and a rare chance for chests, and NotN will drop strange chests at lower than fest currency rate but much higher than fest chest rate, which can again be sold for a steady predictable profit or opened for more of an RNG gamble.

Either way, this thread has once again devolved into generic complaints RE: evils of coli and I would prefer not being pinged again.

I would like the captchas to be more accessible and for keyboard coli to have some accessibility tweaks as well - like being able to fight on with the enter key or space bar instead of having to mouse click, and being able to custom-bind keys since the letter combinations as they are now don't work equally well for everyone.

Also, I hate it when a battle drops nothing. Just like I hate it when I'm gathering and my level 40 dragons get a single 2-point food item every other turn. I'm not expecting to be swimming in loot but it is _genuinely frustrating_ when a battle has not a single drop. Especially if it's a freaking boss battle. Yes, fodder is more lucrative than loot but that doesn't change the fact that it's annoying as hell when a battle drops NOTHING AT ALL. My level 25 dragons shouldn't be crap at bringing home food just like my level 40 dragons shouldn't be. There, I said it.

I feel you on this, I touch the coli maybe once or twice a month before I get tired of it all over again. the drop rates for items in general are abysmal, I do not have time or energy to raise fodder, and there's hardly any incentives or goals to work towards that don't tie directly into the abysmal drop rates unless I'm just trying to earn some quick cash by hoardselling food and trinkets, and as the above poster said it's insulting that some battles straight-up do not give drops AT ALL

I wouldn't expect them to make it so genes are dropping every other battle or even necessarily often enough to be something you get dropped more than once in a day or two if you're playing consistently, but at the VERY least I would like it if there were no more battles with no loot drops at all. that is the VERY least they could do to make it feel like less of a drag
