If this happened I would recommend the flash-sales are changed slowly (eg daily or weekly, or twice a week) otherwise there will be fallout whenever gem purchases get delayed (I noticed announcements about it a couple of times already)
If someone buys gems in order to get something that is on flash sale but the gems don't come through until the flash sale is finished it could get messy
Alternatively every time someone bought gems they might get 10% off their first purchase from gem marketplace. It doesn't seem a big enough discunt to affect game mechanics, just a nice bonus to incite people to buy gems, although it ould reward multiple small purchases rather than large purchases (larger purchases I think get a more gems per dollar already so it would have to balance out with that)
With four pages of discussion already it seems complicated enough that it isn't going to happen anytime soon

As someone who struggles to make/save money I love this idea. It would mean I can get more stuff. I like stuff.
But...I don't think they should do this? The site needs a way to make money, and I'd rather it stay as is- unobtrusive ads and premium currency items with static prices. A flash sale mechanic might make the purchasing of gem items way more jagged, with people saving until the thing they want goes on sale and then buying all at once when it does. Right now, there's kind of a freedom in knowing there's no reason to wait to buy the thing you want?
