I think a neck less rogue mask would be fine, but I hope if they implement it they also add more color variations and perhaps make a full face mask (minus the eyes). In addition, I don't think metal masks would be feasible because of dragons such as coatls. For me, it is one thing when a coatl's tongue sticks out of a cloth mask, and an entirely different thing when it sticks out of a metal one.

I didn’t interpret that particular quote for ‘coronavirus’ mask but a mask splattered with radioactive goo, fluid from the Wyrmwound and the like, possibly even blood (ala blood stained bandages). The mask doesn’t have to be a Surgical mask, we could have the ‘plague masks’ released with splatter.
We do have a Plague flight and it’s rare we get apparel suited for plague themed dragons. Disease and surviving disease is a large part of plague lore

Not opposed to such apparel pieces existing, but launching them during a pandemic would be distasteful. In the meanwhile, there's plenty of items that can be used as replacements if someone really wants one.

[color=indigo] I think this sounds cool as hell! I'd love to see a blood or goo splattered mask. It would be great for plague dragons and post apocalyptic aesthetics!

I think this apparel would be nice. Masks like that are used in a lot of different applications including my field as a chemist, so I don’t breath in chemical powders. Of course it is very relevant right now with current events, but I really don’t think masks should be seen as a scary thing. They’re just keeping us more safe. I understand the concern some people have though and it would probably be up to staff on how they would be able to implement this apparel in a respectful manner if they chose to, and I think that would be possible.
I know it’s a totally different game but animal crossing has always had mask items and a lot of players have been wearing those right now to reflect what they’re wearing in real life, the only difference here is that flight rising didn’t have them before so they would be seen by many as a reference to real world events even though masks are really much more versatile and were worn by many people before this time period for work safety, for avoiding germs on buses/planes/etc, or even as a fashion statement.
In the end it’s staff’s call on if they feel they would be able to implement the apparel right now in a respectful and productive way.
