One step forward, two steps back: I don't have any vision issues and could use all the old tiles just fine, but changing the colours on all the scratch tiles to include three colours is just too much for me to visually and mentally process.
Trying to look at the board now just kind of makes everything glaze over into clumps of meaningless colours. I now understand what having to squint at the tiles feels like. [emoji=mirror deadpan size=1]
I personally really hate when people ask for toggles right after new updates, and I totally understand why the tile changes had to be done, but... to me personally, the old tiles were fine, and they "broke" for me something that I didn't need to have fixed.
So in this case, a toggle to change it back would be much appreciated. That way folks can just use whichever tile set they personally find easier to see, right?

Conversely, I actually find the new scratch tiles easier (although when I first saw the changes I was nervous about using colour as a differentiator)?
Although I do keep trying to match the 8- and 9-scratch tiles together, because they both have a green stripe!
Conflicting access requirements strike again...

Hey guys, there have been some updates to some of the tiles!
You can find them here!
However, even with this update, many users are still having accessibility issues, or even new ones. Please make sure to share if you still have further suggestions for the tiles!
Personally the color alterations has helped a lot to not give me a headache when my board has a lot of scratch tiles. However, I still would like to see the scratch tiles changed to an alternative design, especially something like bamboo.
Bamboo would fit Wind's theme so well, and be unlikely to cause issues for users who are extremely squeamish or have battled with other issues.
I will be updating the first post to link to this point as well so that people can read new thoughts and suggestions since the update.

I love mahjong and hate the coin and scratch tiles, but the reason tiles like that exist is to make sure the game isn't too easy. Every mahjong game I've played has included tiles that are visually similar because it makes you have to look closely and take your time with it. However, these ones are... not great, especially for those with visual disabilities.
The moon tiles are great examples of "similar but different" mahjong tiles- they're very simple designs with small variation that make you have to stop and think, am I clicking the waning moon or the waxing moon? The coins, on the other hand, are just too complicated for the small tiles we see on the screen- having between 1 and 8 coins with 2 different colors on a tile is a lot different from a full moon vs a new moon tile. Now that the scratches have 3 different colors, it makes it that much more difficult and distracting as well.
I understand that this game can't be too easy given the decent payout, but I think there can be some more adjustments to the tiles that are intended to make us take our time without being straight-up frustrating

Honestly, I think even something as simple as changing the scratches to be straight, untapered lines would go a long way. And/or arrange them as tally marks. Or as dots, like on dominoes. There are so many better ways to design them.
ETA: speaking of potentially improving tiles by changing them into plain dots- the detail on the coin tiles is just noise on any number above 1... not sure if it's bad enough to be an accessibility issue, but it is one other thing that would look a lot better if the designs were to be stripped down

Idk why they added MORE COLOR rather then pushing the scratches to be straight up and down and not slanted.

I'm not liking this blue they've decided to add to the scratch tiles. It blends in really well with the green and actually makes it harder to match some of the tiles.

The problem for me at least is that the scratches are in some cases so small and so thin, the fill color starts to visually blend with the black outlines as well as each other, making it difficult to recognize the individual colors at a glance.
It's not causing me any major difficulties, I have good enough glasses, but having now had to learn to recognize the tiles twice, this is what I've now noticed gives me difficulty until I memorize all the different scratch formations.
EDIT: To add, this seems to be a problem only on my tablet, because now that I am playing on my computer, I can tell the tiles apart easily. I assume poor color depth on my tablet is to blame.

Definite support- they scratches really can be hard to see!
