TOPIC | Layout Changes for new Dragon Boxes!
This feels a lot closer to the older buttons, while still being new. The dragons being the center of attention is very important to me, so I like how much bigger they are in this edit, and how much smaller everything else is. I had to switch all of my tabs to 4 dragons per row just to see my dragons in my lair, which is bad, especially since I really didn't want to have 4 dragons per row.

Very nice!! I made my own versions too but honestly, I like your larger dragon images more, looks stunning. Great job on that, honestly, love the sleeker energy bar too.

Hey there!! Your fix is really nice, as well! I do prefer the dragon images to be larger, but what you did with the sex symbol/icons is rad. Additionally, I love how you highlighted the dragon’s flight a little more! It’s super pretty and doesn’t take away from the dragon itself.

The new layout isn't too bad, but I do very much dislike the new editing system.

I do agree with some players that the new icons for the dragons are a little clunky and make the dragons themselves look like an after thought, and the gender icons are pretty much on the meh side for me, but I can live with those changes. However, the editing system changes are absolutely unnecessary. Tabs may seem like a good idea, but they're all together not needed and pretty confusing.

Even worse is the system for trying to move dragons around. The old system of simply dragging and dropping dragons was alright, it really didn't need fixed, but now moving dragons around is much more tedious. It's also not explained that you need to click on the small, specific, bottom part of the dragon icon to move it manually, thus causing quite a bit of panic when someone doesn't know how to move said dragons around.

I've been here for a good 3/4 years now, I'm all for change, but this kind of layout change isn't exactly what's really needed. I do appreciate the effort put into it and the genuine attempts to give more options into organisation, but it's not the change that's needed.

@aarune OH good thing I checked this, it appears you have misspelled my username so I didn't get a ping but no worries, it's very unusual, I am not surprised!
Thank you so much on your feedback!! ♥ It means a ton to me and helps out with seeing what the players actually want to see.

I am just generally bummed out by the visuals, the Lair page is now way too blank and it looks unfinished, especially if you don't have the row filled or have just a few dragons in a tab. I really hope the Staff is taking notes and is going to do something about the visuals, the white void is hurting my eyes.

Ah, my apologies! Usually I copy+paste usernames when I ping but I was on mobile at the time.

You're most certainly welcome! And I completely agree with everything you've stated. There's too much empty space. It almost looks like a mobile browser layout that was transferred to desktop with all the huge buttons and tiny pictures. It looks elementary, and it definitely doesn't feel like a lair anymore.

Also hoping that staff catches wind of our displeasure with the new layout. It seriously needs some changes.

@TheToastyPhoenix

Your opinions on that are completely valid, and I understand where you're coming from. However, I pretty much disagree! I think the editing/organizing system is what I like most about this update. To me, it was more tedious organizing dragons page-by-page with the previous shuffle-down system. I think it was made more convenient this way. We have more freedom to move around our dragons as we please.

I think many users including myself would agree that the tabs are a great way to organize specific subsets of our lairs. For instance, my lair has 2 specific "factions," if you will, and I think having separate tabs for them is really enjoyable and gives me more freedom to customize my dragons and their experience! And lore, too!

As for the button to move the dragons around, I don't think that's at all a substantial issue, if even an issue at all. There is a symbol on the bottom which, on the internet, means that what it is on is drag-able. Even if you didn't know where it was the first time, once you'd find it you'll never forget it, so that problem would be solved. I don't think it would cause a panic.

For me, the biggest issue is the current lair layout.

@MrPrince (coming in late; I know it's been a couple of days)

Dragons in the hibernal den need energy bars because if you pull them out, you may need to feed them before you can breed them or put them in the coliseum. If they're in the den for perma-storage it doesn't matter, but if they're stuck away while awaiting a buyer who'll pay for an XXY firstgen (or whatever), the energy will matter when they're brought out.

I agree that the energy bars seem too big and it'd be fine to shrink them a lot, though.

@ErisLordFreedom ( it's chill, no worries )

I mean yeah, I meant it more as a visual within the hibernal den itself-
Hide the visual object on said page, whilst still keeping energy bar on their profile ( which I doubt would ever be removed in the first place )
Thus people can see how much energy a dragon has/ how much food they might require before taking them out, whilst solving the problem of energy bar within hibernal lair pages being wholly, useless in a sense. Or make it an option you can toggle, to please both people with perma keeps and people with temp keeps. Kind of like the 4/5 dragons per tab toggle.
