I wanted to add my thoughts on a dragon "generator"... I definitely agree with the idea of avoiding a dragon CREATOR as compared to something used to preview. I used to be on a site called Wajas, and high gen animals were utterly worthless. As it was pointed out, it made breeding utterly pointless, since the offspring dropped in value like a new car being driven off the lot. I do think it would be an awesome idea for a "previewer" of a sort, not just for colors, but for genes as well. I'd love to see what certain genes would look like on my dragons without having to buy all of them first (since I can't seem to hold onto my gold for more than a day, and thus can't afford to buy the genes to test!).
I see two ways this could be done:
1) Have some sort of preview feature in the genes section of the marketplace so we can look at individual genes on a specific dragon. (like the hover tooltip/description, but with an image attached of a dragon with arrows so you can cycle through your lair to a specific one)
2) A generator (like mentioned) where you can pick all the colors your dragon has, but then can add primary, secondary, and/or tertiary genes to see how they would look on a dragon with whatever colors you picked out. It could be used to preview an adult dragon you already have, what a hatchling might look like with certain genes once it reaches adult stage, or maybe a goal for what you would like to breed to at some point in time.

As time passes and more gened dragons come about, like with colours, it will become a viable option to try a search for a gene with a specific breed and primary/secondary/tertiary hue, and see how it looks that way.

A generator would be awesome, it could also have the option to show the offspring possibilities between two dragons so you can see that while they have breeding cooldown, or predict the outcome with dragons that are for sale in the Auction house

I would love a generator to be able to preview dragons, and make a custom one in it so I can plan to buy it in the future, not to have a first gen dragon with exactly what I want, but to be able to preview genes before I slap them onto a dragon. Genes are expensive; I don't want to spend all my treasure on a gene scroll just to find out it's not gonna look good on my dragon.

I'm not sure my suggestion is exactly the same as these, but I think this thread is closest so it's probably best to start by sticking it in here.
I'd enjoy a sort of 'dragon art generator', as something outside of the game. I like the surprise of breeding and trading. I don't have one perfect dragon in mind that I'm trying to find in the game. But it was fun to play around with customizing my progenitor!
It made me think of the game Champions. Just before it came out, they released a free version of the character generator. It was just a fancy paper doll dress up program, really, but it was a ton of fun to play with different costumes and colours
That's really all I'd be looking for, paper doll dress up with the dragons to fool around with the different colours and patterns and so on and save the end result as an image I could enjoy.

I think it would be rad though to even have a preview mechanism available to us. Sort of like the one we use when we create our first dragon, that way we can see what our babies will look like as adults, and even experiment with colours to see if there is something we want to breed for.
Also I realize this is a week old so I hope posting here is okay, but yeah. Some sort of access to a preview would be really helpful.

if there was a flight rising dragon marker, which is a game by itself. you could create your dragon, dress it up, ect but it wouldt connect to the main game. basicly, it would be a minigame for users to see what colours/genes/apparel would look good on their dragon.
excuse my bad spelling

The admins have taken down all generators that have been produced thus far. All of them. They don't want them, and they will get rid of them.
They feel it detracts from the surprise of the game, especially as a breeding game, and have stated many times previously that there will never be a generator.

Resonance Not everyone will have the know how to do that, or have a suitable program to do it with.

I agree there should be a breed generator so you can get the breed you want but with the same patterns
