She was a starseer, a powerful Arcane mage. But here she was, deep in the murk of the Twisted Wood. Starlight shines on her face as she wanders the paths, looking desperately for a way out of the Shadowbinder's domain. Hearing something, she takes for the skies, fear driving her to break the treeline. As she does, she is blinded by the moons, all shining on her, and a comet growing large. Her eyes widen as the comet crashes into the wood, and she forgets her fear. She swoops down, examining the chunk of rock from another world. It splits open, magickal energy consuming her. And then she's back, back in the Arcanist's domain. She examines herself. She's safe, but her wings have become a window to the stars. The ever-changing mass she can see through them delights her, and she flies home, wherever it may be. He quickly finds an enchanted scroll which marks him as a Mage of the Arcane Flight, and Magical Crystals begin growing on his wings. He approaches the Arcanist, who bestows him with tattered fabrics of the old Mages. The moment he dons the cloth wraps, runes appear on his scales, and he knows- he is marked for greatness. Collecting ribbons of Arcane colors, he retreats. He studies magicks alone in a secluded area, travelling clan to clan to grow his power and knowledge. He may not be a full Mage yet, but he is a Mageling. And as he drifts through the Clans, he finds a home. Wherever it is, he settles in it for an amount of time. He still drifts, though. The air was crisp and biting, numbing the scales of any that stood outside. But, through the clouds, the night sky could be seen, huge and speckled with stars, the full moon casting its ethereal light over the landscape below.
