Ana let ot another short scream as the man she once knew as a coworker was now.. how does she even describe this?! A beast?!

“It- it’s fine, Lukas,” she tabbed the other teachers shoulders, tearing her eyes away from her son, who clamp his hands over his weird, pointy ears at her scream. She had to be calm for the other man. Right now she couldn’t notice anything wrong with herself right now, so she had to be the calm one, here.

“Just take deep breaths for me, okay? I’m sure it will be fine,” she said breathlessly, trying to calm him down. For all she knows this was all a horrible nightmare...

Lukas heard a scream, he didnt know who it was that screamed and thought that not only he was in some of trouble. That didnt calm him down at all.
- Fine!? I cant see anything - He gasped trying to get some air. He was hyperventalating.
He tried to clutch his head but he now had horns, and sharp ones at that. He scratched the whole palm of his right hand and literally impaled his left hand on his rounded horn. His pupil widened even more.
- WHAT THE HELL!? - He was now totally freaking out. Shaking like there was no tomorrow. He did feel pain in his hands but still didnt realise it was his own horns that did this to him. Lukas also didnt know how to free his impaled hand from his horn. He tried but he only grimced in pain.

Even though he was a grown man, he was very scared, like a child even. Streaks of tears started to come down his cheeks and it was obvious just how upset he was at this very moment. He still hasnt noticed the discomfort his tail was giving him.

“You shoudldnt take your hand out of your...” ‘horn’ is what she was going to say, but she didn’t want to freak him out... more, at least. “We lshould try to find something to stop the bleeding first,” she held his wrist in place to stop him from making it worse.

Felix crawled over to them, obviously scared of what his teacher had become. He stood up, catching himself on a table because his knees were wobbly, making the desk screech against the floor a little. He looked around. Some people definitely changed, and-! Dogs?! Dogs are in the room?! How did they even get here? Everything made his head swim.

Gabriell saw someone stand up- but his... his ears? It didn’t seem that strange, maybe just some make up and liquid latex to make that effect but... why? Why now? Maybe he had them before the earthquake, they weren’t so sure. Gabe stood up quietly and walked out of the room, holding their stomach. They felt infinitely hungry, yet also sick at the same time. They heard a scream in the hall and walked toward it, holding the wall for support. What would they even do? Help? That didn’t seem very likely...

Jackson peered in a mirror that was hanging in the wall of one of the science lab closests, the place that mostly held chemicals and other things that were specifically labeled ‘DO NOT TOUCH’ or something of the sorts without adult supervision or okay. Mostly put in place for the freshmen, as they often thought that they could handle anything, then ended up spilling highly concentrated acid on themself.

Speaking from experience? Perhaps.

Of course days like that made days like today look normal, or at least that was Jackson Makar’s thoughts as he traced the new line on his face with his fingertips. He could still open his mouth normally, which he noted, but it seemed that he had a... second mouth? No, just the aparant new ability to open his mouth much further than it should open. One wouldn’t notice at first, at least not until he did it, and would likely pass off as just an odd marking on his face. ...Unless you touched said line and realized it was in fact not a marking, but indeed a mouth extension.

Honestly, he should have been a lot more spooked than he was at the new revelation. Although he seemed to be a bit more fascinated with it, certainly curious enough that he hadn’t freaked out or anything of the sort.

Even without freaking out though, Jackson did seem to be rather disheveled. Sick looking even, which was about right considering the odd feeling at his spine— one he wasn’t used too and almost felt like something needed to happen before it would calm— was making him feel a bit dizzy or at least light headed. Not painful necessarily, but not comfortable or okay by any means. Again though, he was a bit to focused on other things to care.

One of those things being the scream from the other room which caught his attention immediately. Quickly locking the closet back up, he slipped out of the science room and quickly found himself faced with Ana, Lukas... or not, an unconscious Oscar, and Ana’s son Felix who looked like he himself was about to freak. In summary, utter chaos. Really only Ana looked alright, the other three all seeming to have contracted whatever weird thing had happened to himself and his jaw.

He slipped into the room with smooth strides, surveying the damage a bit and attempting to get Ana and Lukas’ attention before anyone further lost it due to his usual ‘appearing from nowhere’ habit. Apparently his steps were dead silent at times, maybe he just never noticed. “Ana, What is going on? Is that Lukas— and your son? What’s wrong with Oscar?” He put his hands up slightly, a show of peace even if she didn’t have an answers, a signal that they could figure things out together if need be.

Lukas offered his hand obiediantly to Ana. The cut on his hand looked serious and deep but it seemed to be closing up on its own, the blood was starting to stop flowing. Now there was the hand in his horn. Nontheless his cut hand was shaking just as much as he was.

- Whats going on? - He wept but he was starting to clear his mind.
He fulled his other hand again and it yanked out, unfortunately spraying Felix a little with his blood. He never realised he was there. He groaned in pain but was relieved that he got his hand out. He had a hole right through his hand and he offered that shakey hand to Ana as well.
- Whats... whats on my head? - He asked, his voice really shakey.
Some blood from his hand was now dripping from his horn onto his shoulder.

Considering the mental state he was in he didnt even notice Jackson come in. He didnt even try to hear him. He wanted just to wake up from this nightmare.

“Hello?” Tokala called again, as she walked slowly down the hall. The longer she was awake, the more aware she became as to how uncomfortable she was - her torso hurt from the cat, and bruises could be found on her arms, legs, and sides from tumbling around as the school fell. Also, her head did not feel awesome. After being (presumably) knocked out, and awoken by the demanding yowl of a telepathic panther in her head, and the continued telepathic speech, Tokala had worked up a throbbing headache. Speaking of telepathic jaguars, Tokala’s train of thought was interupted by a sharp Shut it. “But... What if there are other survivors?” Tokala mumbled, aware by now that she did not have to speak aloud for Naya to hear. There are definitly other survivors. Open your ears, clueless. Listen to the screams. We do not want to go to that place. We do not want to summon what is there. We will go somewhere safe. Try to find someone alone, so there is less danger. “Danger...?” Tokala asked, confused. All she got in response was Yes. Tokala sighed, and leaned against a nearby wall, trying to process the fact that she was a witch, and a cat told her that there were other survivors, they were screaming, and there was danger. Apparently, just because she had survived the quake didn’t mean that she was going to survive. Her eyes drifted away from were she watched Naya slip into a classroom, to scan the surrounding hallway.
***

Naya slid into the classroom, sniffing for scents. She was aware that the very short witch she was now stuck with was outside, but she was sure that if the helpless human ended up in any danger, she would start freaking out and Naya would become very aware of it. Naya rustled her wings and flicked her tail, pleased, as she found a lone smell in this classroom. She began to follow it, slowly working her way towards the cabinets by one wall, her claws gently clicking against the floors.

Is that..

..is that a panther.

Biscuit held her breath. There was a panther. A PANTHER! A panther, right in the room with her. Death was almost certain. The best thing she could do was to wait for it to go away. But even that wasn't likely, because of the fact that she could hear the clicking of claws against the tile coming ever so closer...

“Yes- yes they are and...” she turned to look up at the familiar voice, Jackson. At least he seemed to look normal, and she refused to think that the line extending from his mouth was anything unnatural...

She gave him a look of what the hell is happening? Everyone seemed to have changed for the worse. This was a thing that would only happen in movies. What does she even say in this situation? What do they even do? How does she react? In short, she can’t. Who would even imagine that something like this would ever happen? She almost pinched herself to wake up, but the headache pounding in the back of her brain was scarily real. Her eyes hurt.

“Can you- do you have any bandages?” she asked Jackson, now turning a bit more serious. Someone was hurt, and there would be others. She had no time to worry about trivial things such as sudden.. changes in appearance. She was now full on mother-mode, and anyone who tried to freak out would probably be slapped out of it.

“What happened to- to...?”

“Hush, not now, Felix. Mr. Shan is having difficulties right now, isn’t that right, Mr. Makar?” she gave them both The Look as to not freak or the freaking out man any more, “I’m sure Mr. Brunswick wil... wake up in due time, something just probably... hit him on the head. Oh, we should take a look at him too...”

Even though Ana was trying to be the adult in the situation, it wa s painfully obvious she was forcing herself to be calm and looked rather light headed.

Lia wandered the halls for a bit until she came to the end. It terminated at a window, where she could see the damage outside in full. Or so she thought.

She slapped a hand over her mouth in shock. Outside, she didn’t see the familiarity of Prairie Heights; instead she saw wide, sprawling branches of a large tree. Small cracks spiderwebbed everywhere on the tree, like the ones running along the floors of the school building. And the school was right in the middle of them. Large limbs held it up, and slightly smaller branches criss-crossed above, obscuring the view of the... moon?

They were in a jungle.

Shocked, Lia took multiple steps back and away from the window, up until she bumped into another person - Tokala. She jumped in surprise and turned around. “Oh, sorry,” she said breathlessly. “I- uh- sorry, but- have you looked outside lately? ‘Cause something is so very wrong...”

Naya

Naya found her way to the cabinet, an odd, definitly not human scent leading her. With a faint meow-ish sound, she nudged the door with her nose. Something was behind it. Presumable small, for it to fit in the space. Naya wished that whoever had made the doors had kept the capabilities of creatures without opposable thumbs in mind - this was not a door she could open easily. Naya glared at the handle, and sent a swift thought to Tokala. Human carpenters are inconsiderate idiots. She then proceeded to try to figure out how to open the cupboard, lightly scratching it as she tried to either get her claws to find a grip that she could use to open the door, or get the thing inside to see that she was doing something similar to knocking. Not that she could knock.

Tokala

Tokala yelped when someone ran into her, and for a moment Naya’s warning ran through her head. But then she saw it was just another frightened human. “Oh, hey. It’s ok. Are you ok?” Tokala knew that her words sounded clumsy, but she was still surprised to have successfully found another person. “No I haven’t. But I can support the theory that something is wrong- I woke up to find that a winged panther can talk in my head.” She walked over to the window, and a very soft ‘oh’ escaped her lips. “I’m... I’m glad I’m not afraid of heights. You saw the crazy jungle too, right? I’m not hallucinating the trees and the cat talking in my head?” As if on cue, Naya’s carpenter comment made itself heard in Tokala’s skull. She frowned, and turned her head in the direction that Naya had gone. “Why are carpenters idiots?” She asked, unaware of how random this question would seem to any listeners.
