New York, Outside The Dokusei Tower, Senji

Taking out the ribbon from his pocket he stared at it. He missed Jane so much he felt so awful for doing what he did. He faked his own death, in order to find answers he seeks without distractions. Also to keep his friends safe from himself. Sighing he then looked at the sky. He would love to see Jane again. Those who knew what happened think he is dead after the incident. Maybe he would try to see her again, but just that and nothing else. He wondered how she was doing also how Jason was doing with his leg. Then there was Mira, he missed her so much, that dragon was something special. Thinking of that dragon he met before, he sighed. He put the ribbon away as he stood up to look over at the tower. Part of him wished he could turn back time or fix everything.

"Am I really going to break the law and enter that tower without permission? I mean what do I have to lose? I just need to find Havok and make sure he is behaving. Keeping everyone safe from that creature is more important than my own life. I am still confused as to why John even asked me to do this task!".

New York, Central Park, Ryadhul

The dragon then suddenly snapped. Using abilities to attack humans and other dragons. Call for the authorities began to ring out, a few dragons tired stand against Ryadhul. Changing his form to his true self, the white dragon took to the skies. Firing a blue fire at a few cars below, as he flew higher and higher. Leaving the city behind him for now. It was time to move on to a new area. Heading south he let out a loud roar. Maybe the next place will give him a clue to the killer he is seeking. The dragon was starting to be obsessed and unhinged in some ways. All he could think of was that red-eyed dragon, he had to find him!

A frog in a well does not know the great sea.
Good things, many devils.
Sawyer/Atticus

Sawyer said nothing as Arank went about his routine... He had a habit of doing his best to comfort those who carried particularly negative feelings with them... He was damn good at it too, most New Yorkers would usually toss aside a random stranger who knew a suspicious amount about their hardships, but Arank... perhaps it was because he had that young and innocent demeanor, but he usually seemed to figure out how to make a connection with people... when they managed to see him at least... unlike the man who knocked him over afterwards. Hastily, Sawyer went to help pick him back up to his feet.

"You alright, there? Come on, let's get out of here, 'fore you get trampled by this crowd," Sawyer said to Arank, moving to carefully escort him back to the cab, having finally realized just where they had come from.

Atticus watched, briefly concerned when Arank was thrown off his feet, but seeing Sawyer quickly rush to his aid put such concerns to rest. Those two had a close bond, no doubt... Good on Sawyer to have that much trust in someone again... He had a suspicion the two would be in touch sooner than usual, what with oh-so-many things starting to happen around the city and apparently the country at large... Things were being set in motion...

Rhett

Rhett had to admit it was comforting to hear such complements coming from the old dragon. He was fairly well aware of his reservations regarding his pact with Gronk... He couldn't blame him... A commitment like that with a human, bonding-vitality with a creature far more frail and susceptible to physical damage... it had to have been disconcerting for a dragon's parent to deal with. The fact that Gronrux now appreciated what he had done for Gronk, himself, and the community at large... well... it offered a sense of validation... and feeling validated, important in even the smallest of ways to a few people he respected, that mattered a whole lot to him.

This feeling shifted to something more akin to astonishment when he heard the mission Gronrux had prepared for Gronk and him. Quite coincidental that he had discussed visiting New York with his pact partner earlier that day... and now they had an excuse to do so... and hell, if they were visiting the Dokusei, that nearly confirmed he'd be running into Atticus somewhere along the line. "Well sir... if you're sure we're the most fit for the job, we'll step up to the plate. I doubt you'll have anything to worry about with your son's leadership qualities. Despite what he might say or even feel, he always brings those qualities out when the chips are down. I doubt even this Tiemeth fella could throw him off-guard..." As he finished speaking, he recalled the radio conversation he'd just had. Best not to forget that...

"Oh, uh... sir, I ought to inform you, we're gonna have some visitors coming by later this evening. You know those space pirate guys who helped Gronk and I out before? I'm sure we've mentioned to them once or twice... either way they wanna stop by... Guess they have some pretty concerning info about some kinda conspiracy..."

Jett

"I'd be happy to finish this up for you, Sam, no prob!" Jett said with a nod. "You've worked like crazy today already, you deserve some rest," he added before she left the room. True to his word, he continued working on developing the photos, observing them intently as he did so. There could be countless details in these pictures that they hadn't caught yet... Who knows how important those hidden details could be to finding out the truth of the matter? Best not to risk overlooking the tiniest things...

"Just... keep flyin'... Keep... on... flyin'..." A dragon muttered to himself in exhaustion, struggling to keep himself airborne as the buildings of the Empire City gradually grew larger and larger as he hovered closer and closer... Yet, despite using all of the strength he had left, he couldn't reach dry land before tumbling out of the sky and into the water. For a moment he disappeared beneath the depths before the sea appeared to actually pick him up and carry him the rest of the way to the shore, his body changing to that of a young human man's in an instant as he rolled onto his stomach, dripping wet, and considering his location, he was not drenched in the cleanest of waters...

Struggling simply to get to his feet and wipe some of the port scum off of his face, the dragon limped his way to the first building he saw... Dockspree... was that a restaurant? Oh god... he was starving at the thought... Despite being destitute, without a penny to his name, his hunger overtook his remaining conscious drive, shambling towards the entrance to the building, managing to open the door before his energy reserves were drained, collapsing onto the floor, likely still blocking the entrance while he was at it.

It was his first time in New York. First time in the Northeast US for that matter. From The Big Easy to The Big Apple... he'd walked, he'd flown, barely ever slept, hadn't eaten a morsel... It was a miracle he'd made it this far.

The small bell on the door chimed when the man walked in, alerting Kris to the new guest.
"Just a sec, hold tight!" She chimed, before hearing a loud thump on the ground. She turned around before her face fell in confusion and surprise. The waitress looked at the group she was serving "Give me a moment. " Before going out to the man who had entered and fell.
The man smelled like the harbor, the fishy water dragon smell, and an unpleasant amount of salt. She patted his back, before checking for a pulse at his neck. He was still alive. Malnourished, that was clearly visible. She didn't set up a story policy on this type of thing. Not that it was precedented. The water-dragon smell didnt make her happy either. She wasn't on the good side of any of their folks from Garvus's legion or the Huhja clan (if any were here).
"Hello there, you seem to be in a bit of trouble, do you need me to call 911?" She squatted down beside him, reaching her hand out to pat his back, but then deciding against that decision.

Mira sat in the toy section for awhile as she scowered through the many toys. She eventually she moved on from the actual toys and found herself among the plushies and stuffed animals. Looking very out of place she kneeled down and looked through the many different animals that were on display as well as buried in the pile. Before long she had an armful of stuffed animals. She purchased the animals and departed the store. Reaching down into the bag she pulled out dog stuffed animal and held it in her arms. Getting back onto the sidewalk she started her walk back towards her home.

Arank

Rubbing his scuffed up elbow, he then spoke. "Thank you, I am alright though Sawyer. A bit used to getting bumped and pushed around at this point. I don't mind it, they don't mean it so I am not bothered. So, Sawyer where are we going to go? Time square? Central Park? Any place away from this tower is fine with me". He opened the door and sat in the front passenger seat. Relaxing in the seat it felt good, it was warm and cozy. To him, it was like a home. Arank liked how it carried them around and Sawyer seemed to control it. The dragon didn't understand it still but enjoyed it mostly cause he was with Sawyer. Looking at the cars zooming by he then spoke again.

"I kinda miss Zoidobi sometimes, it doesn't have the machines this world has. It is quieter and a very simple way of living when it comes to humans. Animals of all kinds wander around and sing songs it is nice. Forests are happier and brighter as well. This world and mine do share similarities though, not all good. Too many fights, a lot of pain and too many people with crowns thinking they are correct. This world is nicer to dragons, though, in my world, humans hunt us and steal unhatched dragons...I wonder sometimes...if that is what happened to me...was I stolen?....kidnapped? I don't remember anything but that dark dungeon...so much blood in that place like paint. Also, the events that followed after it". Adjusting in the seat he looked at his feet for a moment. Thinking he played with his fingers for a bit fighting back his own feelings.

Gronrux, Zoir, and Nero

"I heard a bit about them, a bit strange, to hear about good pirates, to be honest. As long as they don't disturb my son's rest I am fine with some visitors. Could be a good break for us all to have some new faces around. Maybe I will speak with the cooks around here and we can have a big dinner tonight. Hopefully, this concerning information they have, won't involve us Darbi. Had enough bad news for today, any more of it and I might just get sick, to be honest". He then looked at a few people walking by for a moment. Checking them closely to make sure he knew who they were. Turning his attention back to Rhett he sighed heavily. "Tiemeth will be a handful trust me, make sure my son minds his manners. Meaning his temper stays in check, be his missing eye if you have to, see what he can not. That old dragon is crafty and is often one step ahead of things believe it or not. You could try to talk with his daughter if you need help with speaking with him".

A villager than came walking over to them both. He respectfully asked to speak with Gronrux privately about something worrying him. "Well, I guess I will see you later Rhett. If you have questions or need help feel to free to come find me again. I am sure Nero and Zoir can assist if you can't locate me for whatever reason, they should be patrolling around a bit. Knowing how the youngest is I bet he won't be for long". He then walked off with the concerned villager to speak in a more private location.

Zoir and Nero walked the border of the village. Keeping watch for anything suspicious or out of place. "This is so boring! Could we train a bit instead!?". Nero whined a bit as he folded his arms together. Zoir turned to him and smiled, feeling bad for the younger dragon. "How about this patrol with me a bit longer. Then you can go off and do something else, okay? I am sure you are a bit tired from the traveling you did with your father". Nero sighed then waved his arms around and nodded his head. "Fine! Just a few more minutes of this, then I could go find Rhett. Wonder what father wanted to speak with him about! I could go check on Gronk to make sure he is alright".

Havok

He was about to speak when the waitress left to help the man who just stumbled in. The dragon watched with a bit of curiosity and was a little annoyed. Taking a deep breath he then tried to relax a bit. The man with him suggested they leave, but Havok shook his head. Years ago Havok wouldn't be seen dead sitting among other dragons and humans like this. Had to give him some credit, he was doing a good job at holding back urges to kill. He had a deal with John and if he did kill anyone it would be overlooked. A few times the dragon has been waved of charges. Being the president's dragon has a few perks, Havok is protected and is pretty much given free reign. Any death he causes is considered to be protecting John or self defense. John has his hands in everything and is changing the rules.

Havok then stood up looked at the man beside him then told him what he wanted. "I am going to take a step outside, when she comes back tell her what I want". The dragon stood up and grabbed his weapon. The long blade was faced downward in a way to make sure no one bumped it. A few folks eating and watching the event playing out up front. Some whispered with each other about Havok, saying stuff like is that the president's dragon?

The dragon slowly approached the woman and man on the floor. Staring for a moment he sniffed a bit realizing the waitress wasn't human at all. The one on the floor had an interesting scent as well. The salt irritated his nose a bit and made him feel a bit sick. "Excuse me but I need to step out for a moment for some air". Carefully he stepped over the mess before him and made his way outside. Sighing the dragon then closed his eyes for a moment trying to not loose his cool. His phone then started to ring, he growled and reached into his pocket. The name showing on the screen was John Zermack. He let it ring a bit he then answered it, hoping it would be a good call.

Zydron

Leaving the captain to do his thing, the dragon wandered off to go find Jett. He thought he heard Sam talk about needing help with the photos before he left. So dragon made his way to the room where she worked on them, with a small bottle in hand. The dragon did his best not to bump his head on the entrances and metal pipes. When he got to the room he sniffed and smiled as he stood in the doorway of the red light lit room. "Jett! I got that bottle you asked for. Still seems good, don't think any sea water got it in". He held the small bottle up then placed it on the counter. He then placed a hand in a pocket trying to seem relaxed, and the other gripped the anchor. It was easy to tell he was upset about something. "So those photos, you find anything interesting? Turns my stomach green when I think of what could be going on there". His voice was serious and not as upbeat as it tends to be.

New York, Dokusei Tower, Senji

"Looks like that guy who seems to guard the tower is distracted. I better move now or risk losing another opportunity. I guess I would rather tell John I tried at least, maybe he will not be so mad!?"

Watching closely the dragon then made his way off the roof. He quickly approached the Dokusei tower once again. Hopefully, the distraction of that boy getting bumped will work. This time he was determined to get inside the tower. He then used his ability once he touched the tower. Climbing up the tower like a lizard or a spider. Getting to the window that was open, he looked down and then jump inside. As he did the dragon bumped and tripped over something. He fell and hit his head on the floor and then sat there holding it. He hissed a bit as the pain throbbed and stabbed. Looking over at what he tripped over, he froze when he realized it was a woman in fact. He then rushed over to her then carefully tried to check to see if she was alright. Taking her into his arms he softly spoke and rested her head on his arm.

Kentucky, Jason

Working on the truck Jason started to hum a song to himself. He then cursed at himself as oil started to drip from a leak. Getting a tin can he then placed it under the truck. Then started to replace some of the old worn and parts. He looked at the clock nearby and sighed. Jane would be home soon, he should stop soon and get cleaned up. It was hard at first caring for the little girl. Jason was still trying to care for himself and get used to his new way of living. Having the child around was nice, it kinda helped him keep busy. The girl in some ways helped him as well. Got him moving when some days he just wanted to give up and die. Jason stared at the air in front of him and sighed. He couldn't help but cry when he thought more of the past.

The girl in some ways helped him as well. Got him moving when some days he just wanted to give up and die. Jason stared at the air in front of him and sighed. He couldn't help but cry when he thought more of the past.

Good things, many devils.
Tiamat

Stuck in a deep dreaming state she is clueless about what is going on around her. She had moments of this deep slumber before, often leading to unusual long periods of being unconscious. It used to happen a lot around the time Garvus was rampaging around. When she was also just learning about this connection she has with said crystals. One time it was so long it caused others around her to worry. She had to be carried around, it was bad timing but she had no control of it. Another time it happened on Jax's ship, even then it was still worrisome.

"This again...been a long time since I had a dream like this. Kara said it is like the crystals are trying to talk with me. Find it rude that they have to knock me out to do so!". Tiamat stood in a forest, one that looked like the place she ended up in Zoidobi two years ago. It was different, the air smells like ash and sulfur. She then felt chills all over her body. Looking around at the black forest she then sighed. "Oh, I wish Arank was here to help me with this one as he did before. I am not sure what the meaning of this is. Why am I back here!?".

As she walked around trying to understand what was going on. She came to a stop when she came across a broken crystal. She then felt a powerful gust of wind and fell over. Rubbing her head the dragon looked to the right. Seeing a familiar face, it made her jump and get a bit...panicked. She tried to keep telling herself this was just a dream! Right in front of her stood a human version of Garvus. Short black hair, glowing red-eyes, black jacket and what seemed like military pants on. A gun was in one of his hands and he had it aimed at her. She backed away a bit and again tried to wake herself up.

Zaiboric Crystals then suddenly appeared around them out of nowhere. One by one they glowed brightly shooting cyan-blue colored light into the sky at the same time. The sky turned white then it spread but only across the sky. When it did, she could see what looked like another forest. Then the light spread more, revealing cities, one by one shadowed figures of dragons and other creatures showed up around her. They flew up to the sky and headed for the what looked like just a moving image. Then before her eyes, the shadowed creatures seemed to disappear as they got closer to the sky. "Wait! What is going on?! Did they just really....fly up and go to that place!?".

Sawyer

"Well... I'll admit I haven't been 'round Central Park for a while, reckon I don't know why, offers some nice respite from this concrete jungle," Sawyer said as he got in the driver's seat, starting up the cab and driving in the direction of the iconic urban park.

"Well... Zoidobi sure as hell was... different, I can agree with ya there, kid... but I reckon I'm not too eager to go back myself. Not after we all barely got out of there alive the first time... Still, it was a pretty-lookin' place, can't deny that... reminded me a little of a few places I've been to in the past, but... well, with that mystic air to it, nearly brought me right back to... that other world with the dragons in it... but somehow even more dangerous," he said as he maneuvered through traffic, ignoring the usual plethora of angry noises that frequented these streets.

"Y'know, from what I know of it, sometimes it's easier to recollect your past just by talkin' 'bout it with someone. All this time an' you hardly mention it, maybe that's why you've got trouble with bringin' those memories back in the first place? I mean, damn, I ain't no therapist but, couldn't hurt to maybe be a little more open 'bout your own thoughts an' feelin's sometimes, kid. You're always helpin' others sort out their problems, you ought'a get the chance to have the favor returned in some way."

As he found a space to park, casually tossing a few coins in the adjacent meter, Sawyer noticed something amiss with this side of Central Park... in that it looked like someone set fire to it.

"Ah, hell... this don't look so good... Guess we ain't gonna be gettin' as much respite as we were hopin' for," he said, observing the aftermath of what he could only assume was a dragon attack... The damage was too minimal for it to be a group strike though, probably just some random scalie with a screw loose, the sort that did no favors for the reputations of their fellow dragons...

Rhett

"Well sir... I'll admit I have a gut-feeling this may involve a lot more than just the Darbi. I mean, I pray I'm wrong and this is all just some misunderstanding that doesn't involve much of anyone, but no matter what it is, best we get all the information we can, 'least then we can set a course of action if we need to," Rhett said, thinking about what Gronrux said about Tiemeth being a more cunning and devious sort, but before he could voice his assurance that he'd keep his guard up, someone else approached the elder dragon, needing to speak with him.

"I'll keep you posted, sir, not to worry," he said with a light salute as Gronrux said his farewell and walked out of sight with the troubled individual who'd asked for a moment of his time. Now he was alone at the gate... just waiting for Jax's crew to arrive. He leaned against the nearby boulder where Gronrux had previously been sitting and allowed himself to rest his eyes a little. Gronk's fatigue was still wearing at him as well, but it didn't quite feel so grating... Likely that meant the guy was actually attempting to get some much needed rest. Thank goodness for that... Not a day went by when Rhett would occasionally worry his pact-partner would dangerously overwork himself. He'd gotten pretty close today, for sure... and perhaps to be fair, much of that fear came from the self-awareness that he himself wasn't a stranger to pushing his own limits to a foolish extent.

Jett

"Really now? Nice find, Zydron! I mean, I know I asked and all but... honestly I expected this to be long gone," Jett said with a thankful nod as he put the rum bottle back in its designated coat pocket and went right back to work.

"Hard to say... Still developing a lot of these, we'll know for sure when they're done, but judging by your eyewitness accounts, and these first few pics, this is definitely something very... curious, to say the least. This armor here for instance..." he said, pointing to a picture with one of the strange guards Sam had pointed out. "... That isn't like anything from any Earth military I know of. Sam seemed to be in agreement that it looked out of place, draconic even..." At that he turned to face the dragon directly.

"She mentioned another tidbit too... Said you were completely quiet when you were observing all of this for yourself. This could be some really important stuff we're dealing with, Zydron. If you feel like you know something, I really think you ought'a clue one of us in. I sincerely doubt hearing it could cause us any kind of trouble we won't inevitably be dealing with later anyways."

Quint

"No... no no... not 911, no cops... They don't know what to do with me, just gets confusin'..." The malnourished man muttered, just barely intelligible, managing to pull himself away from the door and flop against the nearest wall to at least prop himself into a sitting position.

"Just... just need food... please... Can't... can't pay but... I dunno... I'll owe ya one or somethin'... Just... ****... I gotta have somethin' to eat..." He had to have been hallucinating from the lack of food, because it looked like a bunch of government-types in their fancy suits were all just sitting around up ahead. Just his luck if they were real... still, maybe they were too caught up in some other business to pay him any mind. Best case scenario he might just get a free meal out of this, proceed to not starve to death, and go right back to wandering aimlessly...

Atticus

As Sawyer and Arank went on their way, Atticus had prepared to just pace around at his post with all his thoughts buzzing around his tired mind... only for him to hear the sudden sound of something going on up above... No... that maniac couldn't have been trying again...

He managed to peer up just in time to see someone slipping right inside the tower window... That sneaky little weasel... Without a word, Atticus rushed inside the building, quickly plotting just what floor level that had to have been, getting to the nearest elevator and pressing the button to said floor, pressing the door-close button incessantly and proceeding to head upwards. Oh, this really wasn't gonna be good for anyone if Tiemeth found a stranger just slinking his way inside the tower like this.

Upon reaching the floor, he sensed Tiamat's presence nearby... because the situation just needed to go from bad to worse. Rushing in the direction in which he felt her location, he went for his stun gun, refraining from bringing out the pistol for now... So long as this wasn't some kind of lightning-based dragon, he hoped just the presence of a weapon alone would be enough to scare off this creep... and if it didn't work, the thousand or so volts would have to do the job instead.

In a matter of moments he saw the intruder cradling someone in his arms. Atticus was greatly tempted to go on a particularly explicit tirade right then and there, but he merely clenched his teeth as he kept his stun gun firmly pointed at the persistent trespasser.

"Sir, place her down gently and put your hands up. I'm not asking twice." he said, twitching with poorly contained rage.

“Well, no **** you need some food.” Kris sighed, thinking. She doesn’t give out food anymore, and this guy didn’t look like he was lying. Something had to be done. If she gave him food now, where would he be tomorrow? Begging in back of 25th, or here, at the Dockspree again, letting the man leech off of her. A deal. To keep him out of that ditch she had been in once.
“How about you and I make a deal.I’m hiring right now, so why don’t I give you hot food and a warm bed, and you work for me? You’ll be paid, and off the streets. Save that up and you could do something."

New York, Dokusei Tower, Senji

Senji froze in place as he turned to look up at the man who came in so suddenly. Putting his free hand up, he then carefully put the girl down. Shaking a bit he then slowly backed away and stood up. Well, this was starting to go really bad. Maybe he should have just returned to John! The dragon sighed, then put both his hands up. A few times he glanced down at the girl. He really didn't mean to bump her over and hoped she was alright. Was doing his best to not move to fast. He then spoke in a very soft tone.

"Easy there, cowboy! Was just making sure she was alright, she hit her head pretty hard. Listen, I am sorry for all this, but I had to get in here, I will try to explain more! Probably should of before with more details. I work for John I really do, I am supposed to keep track of a very dangerous dragon. His name is Havok, sure you know about him. The president's dragon, the one that is always with him. Red-eyes, wears black leather and has a katana with him all the time. Has a short fuse and would not hesitate to kill anyone! John wanted me to follow him, but without Havok catching wind of it. The last thing I knew is that he was supposed to be here! I get the feeling though I am out of luck...huh? If I returned and told that man I hadn't been here. He would probably have me punished or worse that man wouldn't hesitate to kill a dragon. My luck, he would go after the ones I care about also...like my dear little Jane and Jason".
